driveshaft

this is just my luck and before anyone asks i wasn't driving hard and/or didnt hit anything, pulled out of a T junction on sat and the car made a loud clunk and started pulling to the left.. got back to my gfs house bout 300m down road looked at passenger side driveshaft and the arm or rod had completely come out of the hub leaving me with a car that i cant move, does this come down to faulty part or fitment

Bare in mind this side driveshaft is only 2 months old and hasnt even covered 2000 miles..

it didnt do anything and then just went but now i cant drive the car cos its only driving the drivers side wheel

If the shaft has come out of the hub (without snapping) then the retaining nut must not have been on the end of the shaft???

If the shaft actually snapped, thenits likely to be a mechanical failure.

did you buy it new? take the wheel off and there should be a large nut on the end of the d/shaft, if this is missing i would be getting a lawyer to contact your mechanic!!!!

yeah brought new thy orderedthe part and fitted it for me, charging £60 an hr so i assumed would make a good job... got another mechanic checking it tommorow and will get lawyer involved if it turns out to be fitment fault

end of the day mate if it was down to faulty fitment you need to get in contact with solicitor etc as what would happen if you were 70mph then it snapped?

my mate done this to his car as well, pulling out of a T-junction, full lock, diff locates all the power to the outter front wheel and snap
