Correct Rallye Rim Tyre size?

  1. #1
I just weighin up the costs in switching to 106 Rallye Steelies and reckon on just under £200 for the 5rims from Citroen/Peugeot main dealer (cheapest place), but the tyres are causing a few problems.

www.106parts.com state the rim can be either 175/60/14 or 185/55/14

There are two sets on eBay at present one set with low profile 195/45/14 which seem far to wide IMO.

    And a set from a breakers with 165/65/14 abit narrow . . .

All Im asking is which is rite? 165 to 195 is a bit extreme, isnt it?

    Thanks guys

    Email 106parts.com through Ebay.
They will definatly know the answer!

Im guessing 185/55/14 is correct as this is the same as
    the VTR wheels setup.

    right here we go

serie 1 rallye steelies 5.5wide can only hold a 185 wide tyre

the series 2 rallye rims 6.0wide can hold a 195 wide tyre

its why people use the s2 rallye steelies

    Car Ching! Thanks matey

195 it is, that would explain the difference in sizes rangin from 165/65 to 195/45. Nice one

if the wheel is 6" wide i wouldnt use 195 tyres. they will be way too fat and bulge round the edge. 185 will fit much better or maybe even 175's.

195 tyres are usually used on 7" wide alloys

also i would go for a 45 profile tyre. if you want a bit more comfort and less handling then you could go for a 50 profile. i certainly wouldnt get a 55 or higher.

195 fit fine on the 6" wide rallye steelies its why series 2 rallye steels are so popular

185/55/14 tyres are about the cheapest to get though and are what i run and mine holds the road more than well enough
