will get mine tonight for you dude
  3. #3
    dont go silver!

go for like a r over charcoal grey, subtle change, not in your face and would look the sex
  4. #4
get down to halfords and get primer, paint and laquer (sometimes do a 3 for 2 offer too), for your car being black id go for a dark grey spray,

take everything out the centre console, wash it and sand it, couple of coats of primer, few coats of paint and finally a few coats of laquer, take your time when spraying just a dusting and build it up till your happy

i think ive got pictures of mine somewere hold on

EDIT : couldnt find the centre console one but heres one of my dial surround and side vent lol

  6. #6
certainly is mate, i might change the colour of it by the time the years out or even get it flocked
  7. #7
Awesome Pred, thats the colour i had in mind too. Iv already got all the bits primed & ready for colouring. You remember the name of the colour u used? You also reminded me how much i want to change all the green bulbs/leds for blue ones hmpf

I like the sound of this 'subtle' Anyone got any examples?
  8. #8
didnt change the bulbs just the dial, they were from ebay

the colour i used was rover zircon blue at halfords, dunno if they do icelandic grey now but thats what i used many moons ago lol

theres actually a guide on here for the spraying them in saxo modifications

Yeh iv always liked the look of the eBay ones, but wanna change the backlights for the little milage guage & the ones for the wingmirrors, headlight dip & cdplayer etc
  10. #10
yeah thats a whole dash kit which you can buy on there, they use smd leds on mk2s and mk1s have just bulbs

and im not confident enough changing tiny leds, a mean i couldnt even get the back off the dials to get to the circuit board lol, the picture is of the blue ones but i have a switch to adjust brightness and to turn them green

Like a turqoise green? My mate has those in his GTO same as yours then
  12. #12
heres the green glow (dont look it though lol, maybe its beacause the brightness was turned down)

mine is a subtle charcoal colour, i dont have any pics of it at the moment but i can take one if you want. not sure if i'll be able to upload the pic though as my computer is being a homo.
  14. #14
Nps, if you take them PM me and you can send them & ill upload em.
  15. #15
Yes if i was you mate i would do it a gunmetal colour or charcole like the VTS come with. I think silver is abit too in your face an dont quite look right.

its not uploading them onto sax-p thats the problem. i might not be able to get the off the camera on the computer. i'll go take a pic in a minute
  17. #17

there you go. the headunit and 2 buttons have been removed but you can see the colour.
  18. #18
looks a nice colour might do mine later on this year
  19. #19
    hey up buddy

got my sprays from halfords. primer and satin black.

as said before, get the console out and rub it down with some very fine wet and dry (i forgot which grade i used).

give everything a good wash, and then build up about 3 very thin layers of primer.
it's better to do lots of thin layers than a couple of thick ones as it's likely it will run and you'll get an uneven coverage.

then about 3 coats of paint should do the job. again, take your time - don't rush it, not matter how much you want to see it finished! you WILL spoil it!

here's a picture of mine, although i stook with black as i didnt want it to stand out too much. i'll be having another go at it soon though to get it a little better.

i think that bright colours are too 'in your face', a nice charcoal colour would maybe freshen it up without being too loud.

The switches on argylefans dash are for his amps. So he can turn them on and off when he wants to, individually. :d
  32. #32
very well pointed out everyone 5 gold stars for everyone lol

From left to right the switches do!

    1-Amp - front speakers
    2-Amp - Sub
3-Amp - Rear Speakers (not in anymore and going to split up so each amp does each from speaker indidually)
    4- Neons

So there ya go ladys its easy as pie to do too

I sprayed mine Icelandic Grey, or as Halfrauds call it, "Arctic Steel"

    Looks quality.

    NOTE TO PREDATOR_VTR:
How easy is it to take the dial surround out to spray? how much is involved?
