What is the best sounding exhaust

  1. #1
for my saxo vtr. Im after sound. Everyone will say a magnex or ... but what make, model is really the best sounding?? I dont want a big 6" piece of crap, im after a proper sound that will turn heads! Cheers
  2. #2
    magnex is quiet

if you want realy loud go custom

my pipers loud with a decat and manifold
  3. #3
determined what you mean by "best sounding"??

personally i'd go custom if it was for sound mate! they will tune it to exactly what sound you want!

Like you hear guys with a saxo vtr and a 4" pipe which they prob bought for about £30. I want something loud but sounds really well. How does that work, i say loud, not too loud lol? Is it done over computer or what?
  5. #5
Well I used to have a 5" (yeah I know) scorpion suzuka exhaust which didnt look too bad, but with the decat, manifold it sounded awesome, ask boz or any of the north east lot.

The piper 4" sounds nice too.

Magnex is loud with a decat and center section without silencer, i have it on my vts and mrs has it on her vtr. Mine is more raspy but hers is still loud

Depends what kind of sound you want mate, custom mainly sounds loud and chavvy while a nice system like scorpion, magnex or pipe with a decat sounds pro

The magnex make a good sound on idle and when on the throttle but quite where you want it I.E motorway but if your after a certain sound take it to powerflow mate.

    OMP stainless steel GroupN system

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMP-INOX-SS-Mo...QQcmdZViewItem

This is a Motorsport inspired exhaust striaght through system in S/S which will replace you cat as well and has a 2" tailpipe - This system will/should give a really tinny raspy sound found more at home on Rally stages than Southend Seafront.

Lot of people dont like the small tailpipe and loud raspy note but for shere performance gains and 'Head Turning' noise this is the one, Pricey at £300 but when you think a Magnex could set you back £250 sometimes more then it doesnt seem bad.

With tha addition of a 4branch manifold this will pop/fart possibly bang and generally scare the living bejusus out of people. This the Saxo's closest exhaust to the famous PugSport system

Nice note for just a Back Box :-)

I like the look of the piper box as most saxo fitments are inwardly rolled which makes the tailpipe look chunky and smaller than it is, much prefer outwardly rolled and slash cuts on the saxo.

What did you use to record the footage? DigiCamera/Camcorder or a Phone?

    BTB is the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    Thanks for the hep everyone

I 'herad' GMC stopped doing the BTBs?? Cant have though as I thought they
were the only ones that provided them.
Pointless to have just that on a standard engine though.

Magnex are loud with a decat at higher revs. Really screams!! It just burbles
at low revs which is good cus you get the best of both (not the bread)

Custom you will get that loud hum 24/7. I personally dont like that but
all comes down to personal taste.

got a piper at the minute and its the best ive had, piper 3" rolled in, looks good because its not a tin can, quite subtle very raspy and canny loud.
  17. #17

  18. #18
I think im going to get this one, id say there will be some note of her. Any last words?

magnex idles realy nicely, and when its booted sounds great!!!

you need the single box system from abp, im sure it was designed for their vts track car, then they had a batch made up. just the one box at the rear and it may even be a slightly bigger bore? (im not too sure) bit it sounded nice
