Green induction kit, extra hose? HELP?

  1. #1
Took off the green open induction kit that i had on my mk2 saxo vts and fitted it to my girl friends saxo mk1 vtr today, fitting went well....

But there seems to be an extra hose that was connected to the back of the air box? Heres a pic.....

Am i right in thinking to just stick a breather filter on the end of this spare hose? When i put my hand over the opening on the hose its sucking air IN, if i cover the opening the car stalls?

looks like maybe brake servo hose.

for a start why are you whacking a shit induction kit on a car in the first place. it will just draw in hot air.

If you check out her progress thread its all explained in there, she was just after some noise not bothered about performance?

The hose came out of the back of the airbox, not sure what to do with it?

It seems to curl back round and end up back in the throttle body?

look where it attaches. as i said it looks like its coming from the brake master cylinder attachment. so could be potentially dangerous if there is not a vacum there.

    Nope not that ^^

Just been told its for the idle stepper motor which is external on 8v.

The green website has a fitting diagram for the enclosed induction kit they do, the hose you have is known as a "negative pressure pipe", I'm really not sure what purpose this pipe serves only that is shows it connecting to there induction kit. See diagram labelled B.

    Hope this helps.

Cheers mate, so best thing to do is plum it back into the induction kit like it says on the diagram.

How about sticking a breather filter on it....

    Lol cheers feller...

If i cover up the hose the car cuts out, i take it, it doesnt cut out with a breather filter on as its still allowing air in yeh?
