r5 you do realise the exhaust manifold is totally different!

haha telling me to get fucked. im not the one buying something i dont know what it is.

Have you also considered all the other bits your going to need to get it running! i.e, upgrading brakes, clutch, extra running costs, insurance premium (through the roof) extra injectors, sig com, etc the list goes on and on and on! that kit you have there is of poor quality mate. if your gonna Turbo it, do it properly, buy Awretham's turbo kit here's the link CLICK ME

"You get what you pay for mate!" at the end of the day!

    yep lol!

the turbo and intercooler could be used.
but the exhaust/turbo manifold needs to be binned and a saxo one either fabricated custom or purchased from a company who sells the conversions.

the piping also is for a r5 bay and so may not be the correct size/dimensions.

i hate to say it mate but ur far from having a turbo'd saxo. alot of people make these kits up and then realise how much actually has to be done to turbo there car and then they sell them unfinished. if he had it on his vtr then he would have sold u the downpipe for it that would connect it to the normal saxo exhaust system as it would be useless to him keeping as its would be modified for the r5 turbo elbow plus the fact it wasnt sold with it leads me to beleive me that he started making a conversion and then gave up after realising whats unvolved. you need alot more to complete the turbo conversion including extra fueling need to be provided to support the extra air entering the engine and also new engine managemnet to allow it to read +air/boost pressure. plus the turbo is set at an angle which others will say wont be doing any good for the turbos bearings

So what exactly did he get for his £500? (Apart from possibly ripped-off)

Would be be talking about this by any chance?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=180078991049

n00b so I can't look at the attachments...

I'd say the lad got bent over. Nasty stock manifold at stupid angle which will starve the turbo of oil, secondhand makyt R5 cooler, a cheap oil cooler, a £25 sandwich plate and a couple lengths of hose.

No sign of anything to control fueling (although I s'pose you could use a Vortech FMU if you liked it ghetto) and I can't see anything for the oil fed to the turbo.

S'pose you could make it work if you knew what you were doing and threw £500 of parts at it.

what ever you do make sure u research it before juming in at the deep end
  32. #32
    I will do this time.
Thinkin about a vts engine, 4-1 manifold, piper cams, piper vernier pulley and chippin it.
    What do you lot reckon?
  33. #33
    chipping NO!

    remap or stand alone!
why go for a verneir pulley?? if your going vts.. vts pulleys are good as std.
  34. #34
Whats the difference between remap and chippin?
  35. #35
search mate, been answered many times
  36. #36
a chip is a universal map
a remap is done on a rolling road and means the cars map is set up to work best with each modification you have.

    chipping is ghey
