vtr-to-vts conversion

   i no this has been covered alot on here but i want to know how much it will roughly be to change my vtr engine to a vts, and what are all the things i need to do it? will it be a straight foward swap (old one out new one in) if i keep it as the same phase engine to the car (mk2 car-mk2 engine)?

   fristly are you planning on doing it yourself.
   what are you planning on changing.
   box and engine? or just engine and loom.
   
   its easy to do a conversion, you will need the wiring (engine loom) from the vts engine and an unlocked vts ecu. or the key with the original engine.
   
   pm tam axo16v on ssc.. he can get good low milage engines.
   
   prob looking at anything between 600-900 for a vts set up with everything needed.
   
   and people who tell you to go for a c2 engine, think about what you plan for the future as the c2 engine will require different mods, as well as a 16v inlet manifold tapped to suit the head.

   id proberly do the box aswel if its worth it? how much would i be looking if i had a garage do it? is the differance from a vtr to a vts that much different to be spending all this money on? lol

   deffinately.
   
   a vtr box has got the wrong final drive. and so will mean the conversion wont be as good as it could be.
   
   although a 106xs1 s1 box would be very good if you want out and out accelleration.
   
   for a supplied and fitted set up at most companies your looking at 1500-2k

   some guy on here last night or the night before was offering any saxo to vts conversion (inc all labour) for £1100.... only prob was that he was based in wales. havent looked back on the thread to see if hes answered my question bout the mileage on the engines. will have to find the thread again but il have a look

   remeber you will need to keep the plugs the same to make it easy on yourself

   wrong way you need the head drilled and tapped to suit the inlet.
