any about, worth doing?
aftermarket inlet's?

#1

#2not really. Throttle boddies are the next step. C2 inlet may be worth doing at a push
-
#3try finding a c2 vts inlet though, im going to a local automotive custom fabricator tyoe place to see what they can do for me.
-
#4did you have an inlet in mind mate?
-
#5might be worth looking into a custom made jobbie, the standard one seems to flow the air through an "s" shaped bend before entering the head.
you could have one that scrolled round ala 205gti, this would be better. with the single throttle body, infact if you did a little reasearch, and perhaps looked say a skyline gtr inlet this might give you a little spark of insperation, the aftermarket ones I've seen have what looks like throttle body trumpets going into the plenum, then the single throttle body on the end.
Just a thaught??

#6yeah, im going to a local auto fabricators on friday with a few ideas i have to see what they think. my ideas may be shit but he may think they could work.
anyone know if bigger means better? plenim chamber wise. -
#7All depends how much money you want to throw at it really.
What you running as you didnt mention 8v? 16v?
Unless you have changed the exhaust manifold, decated, full performance exhaust, air filter, possablly cams I wouldnt bother changing or tryin to change the inlet manifold.
If you have go to the stage above then there is someone on here (sorry Ive forgot who - got a memroy like a fish) that can polish and bore out your throttle body for that little extra airflow.
Edit - Whoops My Bad
Just seen your name :-P but the points made above still stand -
#8you have to consider air speed also. Too big and it'll hamper performance especially low down
-
#9just speaking from experiance of changing the inlet on my x16xe corsa... made a huge differance,,,
gave the car a big kick at 4k
when I took it off to sell the car it lost the kick and was very sluggish..
btw I own a vts -
#10vauxhall inlets are terrible though, seriously poorly designed thats why they release so much power when fitting a new aftermarket one
Saxo inlet tract is pretty decent actually hence why not many people change them -
#11would a vts inlet be any diffrent to a vtr asking for my self got a vtr
-
#12vts is 16v where as the vtr is 8v so id imagine so mate
-
#13Wouldnt bother changing it. If youre not making it yourself, then the cost of getting a fabricator to knock one out (ooer) would make it a bit pointless.
As has been said, its a pretty good manifold for a factory item.
