Best place to buy uprated cams?

   Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on the best fast roads cams or cam kits available at the moment, and where abouts I can get some at a reasonable price.
   
   Ive read loads of threads and it seems that the way forward are possibly kent pt51's or catcam 708's (i think thats right )
   
   Is the group buy on the newmans cams still going or is that finished now, and if it is, are they any good?
   
   I've looked up on gmc, don't know wether prices are that up to date and a few other places, and there either really expensive or they don't state a price.
   
   Any info or help would be much appreciated.Cheers

   piper/kent can buy direct - or any tuning place can supply them.

   What are the newmans ones like, and how much are they? I was quite impressed by spencer cammed vts's rolling road results using 708's?

   the newmans are very good and at a fantastic price you wont get any cams as good as these at a lower price at mo 217 odd to your door for the 16v ones and you can choose what phase you want see 106RR

   you do realise his 708s were not on a std spec engine.
   
   std spec your looking at 155-160 with 708s./
   
   newmans no one has tested them yet, although spec is simlilar to 708s, prob be 1-2 bhp either way.
   
   im personally gonna wait and pay full whack when i build my screamer

    yeah read his thread after he's had it rolling roaded.
    
    Ive basically got my car booked in at a local performance tuner, next monday for a port and polish, cams and remap. I'm just trying to get a decent price on some cams and If im successful i know of a place near me which is a proper machine shop that does head skimming, etc, im going to give them a call tmomorrow and see if they could do some head work on mine, and hence ill fit the cams myself etc and then get it remapped. Just trying to save myself a few quid.

    get catcams then.
    they will be with you in no time! as the newmans you wont have by the time work begins.

    Yeah i know but i can always cancel, if i give them a weeks notice or so. So you would recommend the cats cams over the kent?

    Just registered on 106rallye.co.uk, would like to put my name down for a VTR cam, aint sure about profile yet.. not after anything wild as it will be mostly a day to day drive.
