    AND

what was the response you got on your saxo when you fitted it?

i.e MPG changed,Accelerations changed etc etc........

pics are welcomed to so can see then how people have fitted it .

il post my pic up 2moz since aint took a pic of it yet hehehe.
  2. #2
mines circled in yellow, and had to use some different pip as the one that was there had plastic inside lol, its now covered in tape though

  3. #3
you know I got a spare pipercross mini filter somewhere lol goes straight onto it il have a look in garage if i find it you can have it

    its in blue .
  4. #4
lol well i cant refuse that lol, i dont know even if mine makes that stupid noise still lol
  5. #5
hahaha i get a little rasp sound when i take the foot off accelerator and thats about it.

i just been onto the ecotek website and found this in there forums

    Quote:
THERE IS DEFINETLY A POINT IN TUNING WHEN THE ENGINE JUST SEEMS TO HAVE SO MUCH MORE TORQUE,AND A LOT MORE RESPONSIVE.IT CAN BE VERY HARD TO FIND,I HAVE SOMETIMES SPENT AGES TRYING TO FIND IT,VERY FRUSTRATING.TUNING AS PER INSTRUCTIONS RESULTED IN DISSAPOINTING RESULTS.I HAVE SINCE LEARNT THAT ADJUSTING THE UNIT A FURTHER 1/8 OF A TURN BACK,WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND WHEN COLD,FROM THE POINT THE NOISE STOPS,SEEMS TO HIT THAT SWEET SPOT.BIG IMPROVEMENTS IN TORQUE AND POWER.IT SEEMS TO WORK,ALTHOUGH I DON'T NO WHY.HAVE TRIED IT ON A 2.0GT CELICA AND CITREON SAXO VTR AND IT WORKED BOTH TIMES.I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH RESULTS TO SAY THE LEAST.TRY IT OUT AND SEE IF IT WORKS FOR YOU.
  6. #6
lol a still dont know why i bought the bloody thing lol
  7. #7
haha u wanna read this then hahaha

    Quote:
Hi.I experimented with the tuning all kinds of ways whilst the engine was running,1/2 turns,1/4 turns,1/8 turns, even whole turns forward and back from the proper setting, but just could not find the sweet spot. Then I gave up and left it till the next day. Before i started the engine up,so it was overnight cold,i decided to tweak it back 1/8 of a turn.Driving to work i was amazed at the difference,BIG improvement,i had found the point which i just couldn't find with the engine hot.I don't know if the engine being cold has anything to do with it,but it is the only difference i made to the tuning.I tried tuning the same way on my girlfriends saxo vtr,and got the same result. No hassle, just tweaked it back 1/8 turn with the engine cold and not running and immediatly noticed the difference.I hope you try it out,and get the same results i had.let me know.Good luck! oh and i forgot to say i get an extra 40miles to the tank
not bad i recan lol aint had that outcome yet so need to wait they say you need to wear it in a good 2000 miles before you get the major benefits or somat hahaha sheesh makes me wonder now why did I buy it hahaha
  8. #8
for to get the exact results it would have to be in a wind tunnel or summit, somewere were the conditions are the same, the car would need the exact amount of petrol before and after ecotek and driven at the exact same speed, so id say its a scam lol
  9. #9
lol dont worry I was thinking the same hahaha

but we are the fools haha we have one fitted pmsl.......
  10. #10
i asked about these on SSC a long time ago and everyone said that they affect your brakes and they dont make any difference what so ever
  11. #11
Yer Ive heard mixed things about these, I was going to fit one to my Mk3 XR2i but the shop I was going to get it from said it really needs to be setup on a rolling road so I passed it up.

Not sure how a tiny little vavle can improve mpg and stuff?
  12. #12
wtf are they supposed to do anyway??

by all accounts they just let unmetered air into the inlet...

    sounds like a good idea!
  14. #14
does that mean they do jack shite!

yes mate, i have read all the info on their website and there seems to be no proof of them doing anything noticeable
  16. #16
get a ebay resistor there well good
  17. #17
dont work, court even ruled that they couldnt prove they work and least of all do they work on a saxo. Pete had a great post ages ago detailing how these cant work

  23. #23
if you go onto there site they have graphs and stuff where they have been tested on 106,fiesta,golf and other cars and its been tested by micheal shoemaker (lol).

I had a word with a garage today they said all it does is sucks air in and instead of it been just a simple stream of air it twists the air so the engine can coup with more air wihich then in return increseses the bang you get so you end up with a little bit more power then before hand but you must tune it perfectly and have the right tubing or your brakes will be effected.

engine only sucks in as much air as it needs, fitting a daft wee valve will do nothing. tell your garage that if you want to force more air into the engine you need something called a TURBO/SUPERCHARGER
  25. #25
    Example:

I am now selling this Turbo Hole. You put it in your inlet manifold anywhere you want and it will increase your power and fuel consumpiton.

    heres a graph:

    Also a customer reply:
"I bought a "Turbo Hole" last week and was very sceptical about the difference it might make. WHOAH this has to be the best modification I have ever bought! My car now does an extra 300 miles per tank and I can now fend of porcshes and scoobys in traffic light races. Fitting took me 10 mins and the results were instant! I love "Turbo Hole" thanks guys A+++++"

Now I can do you a special deal on "turbo holes" because as you can see they are proven to work. All you need is a drill and a dirll bit and Ill supply the instructions for £100 delivered.
  26. #26
    hahahaaa. were those graphs DIY?
  27. #27
after seeing that graph scott i think il order 2
  28. #28
No way there are from my friends uncles dog who has access to a "dyno 2000" rolling road and it does it all for you.
  29. #29
same RR as leeds106 and Yorkie used yeah?

that small valve will have next to no effect on the air turbulance. The garage is talking fud
  32. #32
no one has left him any bad rep.

I dont know about yorkie and leeds106 RR but this place would only give fly figures because thats where the money is made they said or something
  33. #33
just asked the so called guru at ecotek about the valve this is the reply i have gotten.

    Quote:
Martin - animated diagram we don't have, but in a nutshell - the Ecotek CB-26P is a vacuum operated valve which allows small measured amounts of agitated air to enter the inlet manifold at specific vacuums.

The agitated air improves the air/fuel mixture resulting in a more complete burn of the fuel to provide improved emissions, better economy and engine performance.

Also, on modern fuel injected ECU controlled engines, the Ecotek momenterily interupts the inlet air under acelleration and when lifting and reapplying the throttle which richens the A/F mixture which gives crisper throttle response and helps negate any flat spots associated with some engines.
  34. #34
Thats fine you keep listening to the sales patter

I own a company that sells a product that doesnt really work... a person emails me about whether the product works or not... I tell him that it works so I can earn a bit of cash...

Always be critical of your sources for information.

hey cunt i went to that roalling road

  37. #37
the person i asked is the main admin/salesperson of ecotek lol.

I have looked all over the net and asked real people who have them and no one has said anything really bad about them tho.....

I feel like sending BBC an email haha asking them to put it to test on top gear hahahaha or il ask channel 5 see if it can be tested on 5th gear but i recan they would find it hard to fit the thing in the first place lol.

see... who said an air filter wouldnt give an extra 20bhp?
  39. #39
if they worked, why wouldnt they come on standard cars. Small cost to outlay to be able to increase performance and mpg. The answer is they dont because they dont work.
  40. #40
lol at this thred, like a say i ordered mine absolutely ages go and thought i felt a difference but really not sure, i wouldnt say they have affected my brakes as they have always been crap lol

agree with scott and have always said why dont the manufacturers fit them as standard if they work

preds, this is what I dont get... how can the valve affect the brakes???

    Paul...

whats the reckoning I can have more power than a furio on this RR?

as Scott has said email the guy back and ask him why a court ruled that they had to withdraw their claims of increased performance...
or you could ignore everyone and waste your money, your call

i dunno mate, i know for a fact it has done sweet FA to mine lol, i know its brake servo but the pipe you put in is the net manifold pipe and has nowt to do with brakes, i think people think it will put air in the brake lines lol but it doesnt
  45. #45
i agree there if they worked then why dont they fit them BUT its all about contracts and money these days if someone aint getting the right offers you aint gonna accept it.

or maybe the product is just crap lol.

lol I even asked them this question 'so you put it to a vaccum tube yeh so there is more then one tube lol I said cant you fit more then one HAHAHAHA'

    there reply

    Quote:
Martin - you can fit more then one if your engine is larger then 2.5 ltrs unfortunatly the vtr is not so you can only fit one
  46. #46
oh god best one yet WAHAHAHAHA mate of mine just asked me lol do you connect it to your fuel line wahaha im sure if you did you would have fuel shooting out the valve PMSLLLLLL omg what a daft lad lol

Depending on the vaccum line used. If its the one from the brake servo to the inlet and the ecotec is blocked or broken then you have no vaccum and no power assisted brakes.
  48. #48
put one on old car and it lasted 2 days and i lucky sold it to someone it made my breaks sh*t!!! and the car did not run right it all!!!
  49. #49
well theres a rep think saying no good whats that mean s34mer

There used to be an advert in the back of old Rev's Mags (before it went all pony) every issue sayin 'Dyno Proven to give better MPG blar blar blar' 'Rev's approved product' . . .
