so im looking at getting some work done to my vtr. before anybody says put a vts lump in it i want to do something different and work on the vtr.

    Kent alloy vernier pulley

    Genuine Citroen oil filter

    Genuine Citroen head gasket

    Genuine Citroen head bolts

    Genuine Citroen cam oil seal

    Motul engine oil

    Anti-freeze/coolant

    Piper stainless steel manifold

    Genuine Citroen exhaust manifold gasket

    £1397.00 inc VAT

just want peoples views on the kit i have been given information about and if you think its a reasonable price. i already have a full cat back system and a procomp.

any help or advice appreciated. thanks.

seems alot when you can have a vts engine fitted for 1500

the only things odf any major expense would be the

    cam and manifold...

£1400 for those and a few other things seems a bit steep

seems a lot, know you dont want to but think you could regret spending that much, unless you have the money to do it.

ring around proper engine tuners and get quotes from them for that work. see what you can get it for.

put it back to standard sell it and buy a black vts saves money in the long run throwing money at cars doesn't get you any where
  11. #11
waste of money buying filter, bolts and head gasket from citroen imo.
  12. #12
and for that price i would rather fit a 16v engine.

Read his post he said he didn't want that kind of answer. If you have nothing constructive to say then don't say anything.

looking at that list the only performance part is the cam..

I'd say for the gains you'll get its not worth that expense. You'd be better off with the standard cam and fitting TBs for the same price
  15. #15
that price also includes fitting ( just noticed i hadn't put that on )
  16. #16
we could tell it included fitting from the stupidly high price.

kamracing- what type of performance mods to a vtr could you offer for that sort of money??

vts engine is the best £ - bhp.

just giving my advise and who made you god all of a sudden

I'd fit a pugsport Group N exhaust with the dummy cat
    raceland manifold,
Both are lighter and flow better than the o/e items and you'll have plenty of change.

Then I'd save hard for an aftermarket ECU and TBs - it'd benifit you more than a mildly uprated set of cams - but you're budget is going to get blown out the water. At risk of getting shot down like other people above I'll stick my neck out and say that before doing any engine work its usually best to start with the best engine possible - thats the VTS

pugsport doesnt look right on saxo though. 100% go for 16v, you will have plenty change left over from £1500!!!!!
  22. #22
i wouldnt go any further then breathing mods on a vtr

    your just wasting money

    get your self 16v

not the answer he was looking for, but would hate you to waste your cash! cam a vts engine or go buy a vts! seriously!
