quick ques: 206 GTI into saxo?

HI looke don ebay and this bloke was selling a 206 GTI 180BHP Engine and said it owuld be perfecy for a saxo conversion? would this fit inside the saxo if i had engine mounts and shit or would it be Shit loads of work?

you see becuas ei was seing this:

is it just me or is that a saxo engine bay?

looks different from saxo bay. but cant quite tell from pic. top mounts look a tad different.

why fit a 2.0L engine? the car will not handle at all well. and the conversion isnt easy

shit loads of work mate, and the heavy weight would effect the handling, save your money and cam a vts engine if you dont already have one!

and you will also have the turning circle of the titanic

i think it would be a ballache, but ive seen 106s with gti-6 engines so i dont see why it cant be done but like most people say with modding nothing is impossible if you have lots of green, im sure ill be corrected on this though

gti-6 is a cunt to fit to.

cant run 6 box unless the steering rack has a lock welded on, reduces turning circle and handles like a boat.

what mods does that engine carry to boost it up to 180bhp?? are you sure its not just another ebay false bhp claim. Kinda like the joke of a claim the guy selling his "170bhp Saxo", only mods being, an exhaust, Filter and decat??

The piccy you have at the top is a 206 GTI 180 just to show you this is a piccy of my engine bay when i had mine so you can see that its a 180 engine.

i was looking into one a while ago, insurance was cheaper than the s, even tho they are group 18 or something arent they? cant remember actually now

but yeah heard performance wasnt that good, well crap really for what it was, altho i like the front seats...

I'm sorry but i disagree with that from previously owning one i know they aint slow!!!! Where have you hear this from like? if you call 0 - 60 in 7.2 slow then they must be.

williams has proved my point, for a 2ltr 16v compared to a 1.6 16v the figures arent that impressive

think about the money you spend on an s and then one on a gti 180, i wouldnt be impressed with the gti 180

there are other cars in that area that are alot worse and not as near nice looking and as nice inside granted that the 172/182 are great cars i'm not saying they are but them and the tyre r are in there own league the 180 compared to things like the ST170 the c2 vts and other is alot better in respect to power. With my personal experiance with my 180 i was very impressed with it.

williams you have a very good point in what your saying, but to be fair on the other hand the 205 GTi is about 100 years old and the 182 is only a couple of years old. technology changes! in its day the 205 GTi was a quick car, but in this era its not that impressive! No doubt about it though its not a slow car by all means!

I got rid of it because the business i worked for fucked us over and the MD stoped trading didnt pay us for 3 months and didnt get redundsy pay out so as i'm sure you can under stand i had to sell it and try and get myself out of 3 months of debt

As said above theres harser laws on emissons now as well as demands on every little extra possible in the cars (i.e electrics a/c) which weighs the car down i'd love to see a 180 with the same mods and a my saxo at min
