lowering price!?

  1. #1
    hello
well i am planning on getting my 1.1 eastcoast lowered 60 mm so i emailed www.edge-performance.co.uk and they quoted me £249 for the lowering kit and £150 for the labour.

sounds abit much to me, they didnt say which kit it was though.

anyone know anywhere near to me where i can get a better price? or if i got the kit could come round and lower it/install the kit for me.

    cheers

    Martin.

i have front springs (40mm) an was quoted £150-£170 roughly to put them in an lower the torsion bar.... price depends on how long the torsion bar takes to loosen an reset.

£150 for the labour is pretty good! I payed £200 for the labour to get my car lowered.

    What kit have you got??
  6. #6
andys_vts that is an immensly high, labour here is about $60 an hour

martinsaxo - id get your own kit and just take them up on the fitting tbh, i wouldnt want a $250 kit on my 1.1, there are cheaper ones that will be fine for you

my pound sign is broken hence the use of $$ lol

U say labour is £60 an hour rite??

There gonna want to keep the car in the garage for a couple of hours at least, so thats £120 already. The labour per hour around your area is high, my local citreon specialist (the place where i got mine lowered) only charge around £35 an hour, the only reason why mine cost so much was because the torsion bars were fooked.

I bet alot of ppl on here have payed between £120 - £200 to have there car lowered.

i used to do it for £60, gavin offered a torsion bar only service for £35 or with springs for £50

yes hence the "id take them up on the fitting" part that you obviously didnt read and there is $80 difference between 200 and 120 mate which is 40% !!

And the bit you obviuosly didnt read was that my torsion bars were fooked hence why i had to pay more. Its still expensive mate £60 an hour no matter what u say.

up to 40mm = springs only
over 40mm and you should really get shocks as well.
getting mine done next friday. i'm supplying the kit (spax PSX) and they are doin it for £30 a corner + VAT.

topgear donny told me they can't do torsion bar lowering which was shame as I'm always there getting my exhaust repaired.

£20-40 for front... rear.. £20-60 depending on how much of a bitch it is.
