do u have to pay import duty on it tho?
  3. #3
dunno, is that expensive? didnt say anything about it.
  4. #4
i have bought stuff from america and hong kong before, if they send it as a gift you dont have to pay anything but if it is sent as purchased goods then u have to pay import duty. its done on a % of the valve of the product and the charge depends if its sent through a corrier or via the postoffice. for example me and a few other punto gt lads bought intercoolers for £100 from america some were sent via parcel force and the import duty was £14 some of the others ones were sent through the post office and the import duty was £40. hopefully it will be sent as a gift as its only a small item its the bigger items i am sure they would have to list as a product

anyone car to say wtf that thing does? lol sorry for the amatueristic question!!
  6. #6
    regulates your fuel pressure.
  7. #7
its a fuel pressure regulator, it regulates the amount of fuel pressure in the fuel rail
  8. #8
it never does! lol hense the reason why its called a fuel pressure regulator! but how does it work was what i meant!? what are the benefits? why would you use one of these?
  9. #9
works of a vacume and has a small diaphram inside, putting i higher pressure one on will give slightly better throttle response and produces a strong fuel mixture with better attomisation, iirc standard vts fpr is 3bar

  13. #13
If anyones interested, ideal fuel atomisation occurs at 3.5bar according to pug sport.
  14. #14
yeah pug sport say 3.5 but i also read somewhere that gmc say 4.5

I think i'd rather go with the "salesman" (GMC) as you call them!!

but then again, i suppose 30+ years of car tuning is not to be trusted one bit is it?

so is it better to have standard or change up to a 4 / 4.5?

Im not saying theyre not to be trusted, but GMC will set out to make a living from selling parts like FPR's, not compete and win championships. Pug Sport as a rule, is the opposite.

If you really want a 4bar FPR, raid a newish VW/Audi at a scrappy. No point going new, an FPR is the kind of thing thatll never break.

GMC sell a range from 2 bar to 4.5 bar though.

matt - standard is 3 bar.
