I read some where a standard S weighs in around the 934kg mark (Not how spot on that is)

Core that is 'SUPER WEIGHT WATCHERS'

    iv taken out the:
    sparewheel
    hanger
    jack etc...
    rear seats are out,
    rear belts
    front belts
    no centre silencer,
    no cat
    3rd brake light
    lightened 106 gti alloys

still got to take out my plastic bit that surrounds the gearstick and houses the immobiliser pad
  17. #17
was the car weighed or guesstimate?

    Now thats impressive stuff mate
    Ive done:

    Spare Wheel hanger
    Rear seats and Parcel Shelf
    Rear Carpet and Sound Deading
Centre Rear Seat Belt (rest going as soon as I can remove the support for the parcel shelf - aint got a small enough tool to get down the hole)
    Centre Silencer Removed
ECU cover (that makes all the difference)

    Im getting there
  20. #20
i honestly cant see carpet for all there is in the back making that much difference in weight, spare wheel yes as it does weight a bit but all the little plastic bits like door cards etc dont honestly weight that much do they?
  21. #21
Not really, it all adds up though. Carpet does way a suprising amount when you remove enough of it. Wheels can make a difference too, you'll find about 20kgs difference between some ultra legs/pro race and some fat blingy shitters
  22. #22
plus the sound deadening under the carpet as well, as dave says it will all ad up
  23. #23
its a bit like tesco's, every little helps!
  24. #24
i was a little shocked at the weight of the carpet... but thats because im weak
  25. #25
889 is still bloody heavy! not exactly uber weight loss..

removing all the unwanted sound deadening will make much more of a difference than that is there.
