  1. #1
hi everyone, i am new to this so any help wld b brill.

i bought a Adjustable Power Boost’ Controller for my 1996 saxo, i know they break you car n every1 said not 2 get 1 but i did n i want to use it1

you have to wire it up to the iat (air intake temp sensor) but im not sure wot wires they are. i found the rite plug i think but there are 4 wire n i need to know the colours on the ones going to the iat and not the injector!
    cheers

So you want to naff your car up?

You've said it yourself dude, the basics are that the ECU is fooled into thinking there is more air entering the cylinder then there actually is. This mean the ECU compensates by adding extra fuel.

Sadly this wont really yield any extra power gains as:
The amount fuel that will burn is proportional to the amount air available to combust. so you're actually lobbing in more fuel than necessary.

Also it will result in an incomplete combustion, causing carbon build ups within the engine. come MOT time the emissions might be sky high

etc etc... people dont say 'dont buy it' without a reason.

Would citroen really miss out on increasing the hp out of their engines for a mere £15 as standard?

either its a fse boost valve or something else.

as a boost controller usually is for a boosted engine rolf.

Well you know what we think mate, they do fuck up your car. Think about it this way, if there was a cheap way to get decent power gains, wouldnt every car have it as standard, if not everyone who modifies their cars would do it?

You cant get decent power gains for little money mate you need to spend the cash to get the rewards end of

ok ive taken in wot u have said, so it doesnt provide any extra power or speed??

The cheapest mods for power are:

    enclosed induction kit (£100 upwards)
cat back exhaust system (£250 upwards)
    decat (£30 upwards)
    manifold (£150 upwards)

These are the basics, then you move onto cams, turbo's, superchargers etc.

Like above, but ya dont say what saxo you have, moddin a 1.1 or 1.4 for performance is pointless imo you wont get much gain for your dollar

Lol how cool would it be if one of these got fitted to the new type RR and we all had to STFU
  17. #17
Yeah but its possible to put controller onto type r's as they actaully have something to control VTEC you can put VTEC controllers so you can bring the power in earlier, there is actually nothing to control on a vtr or any saxo for that matter
