Whats the better induction kit for a vtr out of these to enclosed air filters. They are both roughly around the same price just want to know what would be the better option for my friend
BMC or VIPER??

-
#2BMC out of those two.
Viper is encased in metal , metal gets hot quickly and stays hot. -
#3Id say BMC too, although i have a Viper myself and they look much better imo lol
-
#4BMC for me but also max power also recomended bmc becasue its chaepaer and gives more
-
#5Green lol, sorry just love mine at the minute
-
#6bmc for me to
-
#7i found that out the hard way hahaha OWWWWWW lolQuote:

#8lmao tut tut tut
-
#9Had niether but from things Ive heard and which is better vaule for money, Id say BMC over Viper simply because its cheaper really.
There are other enclosed filters on the market but are unbranded if you fancy an unbranded item.
eBay and simota - dpmotorsport stock one -
#10BMC go go
-
#11Bmc for the same reason scott mentioned.
-
#12my viper isnt metal it says on the box carbon fibre, still havt got it o nthe car yet its at the garage again making the most of its warrenty
-
#13Which is the quietest enclosed induction kit?
-
#14the bmc stlye ones are the quietest, then the ram ones. which is thae actual quietest i dont t know
-
#15if you are made of money try an ITG Maxogen!
-
#17itg make very good carbon boxes. shame they dont appear to have such good effect as a procomp would for example, the ram effect wors quite well in reality even tucked behind the slam pannel.
id personally never touch piperx vipers.
bmc or preferably a green encolsed. -
#18had a bmc,loved it
-
#20Found that maxogen thing
http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/fra...en-filters.htm -
#21does anyone own one of these maxogen kits?
they worth the price? -
#22I cant imagine "gains" if thats what you want to call it much different but you
pay a lot less for the BMC.
Both looks smart in there own way. Prefer the BMC imo. -
#23I know some clio owners who have the ITG Maxogen http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1361
The real gains are to be found (as with any induction kit) when you combine it with a re-map or chip! They are expensive kits, but you get a full carbon system, rather than something like the Vyper where you have metal rings and surrounds! -
#24maxogen on GS motorsport, but i think they look cheap, and would be better with a green or bmc in my opinion
http://www.gsmotorsport.com/maxogen-...ems-p-214.html -
#25That kit for a 106 GTi is £299 + £69.99!
Would love to see one in person first. -
#26Back to bmc vs viper!! Surely the heat soak on the viper wouldnt matter as it has a cold air feed??? just a thought??
-
#27BMC, good quality and they look smart!
-
#28That makes no sense. Most induction kits have a cold air feed unless its a open filter but a metal one is always going to be crap compared to anything else. The air travelling through it will be warmed up due to the hot metal.especially when the car isnt moving very fast.Quote:

If the heat soak didnt matter because you have a cold air feed then no one would bother with carbon fibre kits and the more expensive non metal filters. -
#29nope totally wrong.Quote:Back to bmc vs viper!! Surely the heat soak on the viper wouldnt matter as it has a cold air feed??? just a thought??
you would get heat soak from the the fact the metal casing would heat up and heat the filter itself, you dont want this, a cold air feed means diddly squat
