  1. #1
Awrite folks my mate has a 1.4 west coast saxo which has died so e is going to stick a vtr engine in ive used the search and found good info but could not find any on the specific model. so im just basically wanting to know whats involved ?.
  2. #2
same as any other engine conversion
  3. #3
thnx mate thts all i need to know
  4. #4
swapping over the looms and transponders and getting everything coded then should run
  5. #5
    transponders ???
  6. #6
coded? dont need transponder mate. why go for vtr engine though? 16v would be best move.
    need engine
    loom
    sensors
    unlocked ecu
  7. #7
he putting the VTR engine in cause he got the whole VTR cheap.
  8. #8
So if he's got a whole vtr, why is he puttin the vtr engine in a west coast, why not keep it in the vtr?
  9. #9
perhaps because the vtr is bent!
  10. #10
Im askin because he never said that the vtr was bent or broke.

    One can only assume.
  11. #11
either that or because he has spent alot of time and money on his 1.4 and its more financially viable to do an engine conversion rather than stripping and swapping all the other bits over.
  12. #12
    Very true.
  13. #13
Or because he wants to insure a vtr engine as a west coast.

    insurance dodge.
  14. #14
i agree with williams on the idea of a vts engine instead but its and easy enough job to go from 1.4 to vtr
