Does the BMC fit a VTR, my mate said there is no connection for the breather pipe on his car to go onto the BMC. Is there anything he can do? such what does the smaller cone shaped air filter do to the breather pipe? Much appreciated Cheers REP given

#2Yes the BMC fits the VTR hesslevtr has one on his iirc, as far as the breather pipe goes, you will need to but a oil breather filter, usually about £6-£7 from most car shops, motormania, motorworld, halfords, etc!

#3All the Breather does is vent air into the engine to let it breather, if you blocked the pipe the engine woulnd be able to breather effecting the running and the oil would start to sludge up - the oil needs to breather as much as the engine.
Older Ford engines used to suffer from this like OHV's and CVH's. Hence you'd get loads of 1.1s OHV's and 1.4/1.6 CVH's sounding super rough and being so oily.
Worth pointing out as well for some reason Mr MoT may fail a car with a breather because they say engine fumes shouldnt be vented to atmosphere but back into the induction system to be burnt with the air/fuel mixture.
Rubbish - Id personally check with the place you get your MoT done and he may not even care but I have heard people be caught out.
Dont let it put you off as a BMC is well worth that extra £8-£10 and extra 5mins fitting with a breather and like I said find a friendly MoT station and he probally wont Even care :-) -
#4ive got one on my vtr get a breather like said above mine came with one

does that help -
#6Ask/check/search where your buying the Filter from as they may also stock crank case breathers and you could get it delivered together with the main filter. Job done.
If not stick in engine breather in to eBay and see how chap they are away from Halfords and the like. Loads of different shapes and sizes some foam some cotton but they all pretty much do the same job :-) -
