#2I know nout about it mate but try do a search i think there was a thead quite recently about this
-
#3ok ill have a quick look cheers
-
#4just for a basic turbo kit fitted and setup your looking at about £3,000-£5,000 mate, then you will need to consider things such as uprateing, clutch, brakes, etc!! then there's increased insurance, running costs, etc! lots to consider!
-
#5gmc want about £700 to fit a supercharger conversion including mapping so your going to be looking about the same for a turbo kit, i fitted my supercharger myself was easy enough just need to take it somewhere to be mapped.
-
#6Suppose it really depends on the kit you thinking of?
Do you already have the parts and just need fitting, what management are you going to be using etc... all these things add up, like wiring and mapping etc... -
#7planning on buying a full kit off someone, then ill just need it fitting, will be running sigcon and mf2, which is already setup for the setup im getting so would only need minor tweeking at the most
-
#8so its just the fitting then, sorry i thought you meant parts aswell, in that case i'd still say your looking at about £1k ish i'd say!
-
#9hmm wouldnt of thought it would be that much, as there isn't that much to do, biggest parts of actually fitting the kit would be taking the head off to put the decomp plate on and uprated clutch, rest of it is basically bolt on i believe
-
#10wiring of sigcon and mf2 is probably going to be the biggest labour charge especially if the garage dont have experience of them
-
#11yeah spose that would cost abit aswell, although i wouldn't have thought there would be much to it connecting them upto the car??
-
#12well do it wrong and you can kiss your engine good bye. Need the wiring instructions with both of them as well
-
#13ok then, ill ask the guy who i may be buying the kit off if both come with the wiring diagrams
. just trying to figure out which is cheaper, buying and fitting vts and camming it, or buying and fitting vtr and turbo'ing it, just small things matter, hence why im asking people about labour charges for fitting turbo kit
-
#14how much are you buying the Turbo Kit for? and what does it include?
Depending on how much the kit is and whats included in it, i'd say it would be cheaper to buy and fit a VTS engine then cam and re-map for that your looking at £2000-£2400 as a rough guess! and with other mods to help compliment the cams such as Induction Kit, Mani, etc you will easily see 150bhp! -
#15£1400ish for turbokit, includes everything, turbo, mani, downpipe, turbo, clutch, air filter, etc etc
-
#162 turbo's? lol are you VTSTWINTURBOQuote:£1400ish for turbokit, includes everything, turbo, mani, downpipe, turbo, clutch, air filter, etc etc
haha only mesin mate, post up a complete list of everything included in the kit, that way we can see what your missing and what you will need, and be able to give you a more accurate price range mate! -
#17think this is the 1 i was going to purchase
awerham is selling it -

#19that is the mo fo indeed
-
#20just save the money and put it towareds a new car but if you have money to burn do it and give me some while youyr at it

#22I think your forgetting possibly the most important upgrade of all though Ash.........
..........Breaks!?
If you can't stop, your in the shit! lol
-
#23yes thats the turbo kit im considering buying btw
-
#24might be a good idea to purcahse one of these aswell mate (see link at the bottom), otherwise the Torque will kill your engine if not distributed eveny! Which is why a Supercharger would be much much more feesable as it distributes the power evenly through the full rev range!

#25thats a piggy back ecu, wouldn't it just be cheaper to buy incar boost valve or adjust it the hard way by actuator, i think it is, or fitting a bleed valve.
-
#26is it not a boost controller!! lol thats what i meant to post!
-
#27nope think thats just a piggy ecu, not sure, but think reason why guy is selling that is cause he made a turbo setup with turbo at angel with standard manifold so probably went bang on him lol
-
#28do not use decomp plate --better and cheaper to usea second mls h/gasket.Quote:hmm wouldnt of thought it would be that much, as there isn't that much to do, biggest parts of actually fitting the kit would be taking the head off to put the decomp plate on and uprated clutch, rest of it is basically bolt on i believe
you cannot use solid plate with strech head bolts it is not correct.
you will have no prob with double mls gaskets --i promise ,better to use lc pistons --but i understand money is always the prob.
what you should consider is that it is not only lowering the comp ratio ,but the proper pistons still give you correct "squish area" at edge of piston .
they have a dish in middle but edges are still at top of bore
