Even a 40mm drop will cause rubbing problems with 45 profile tyres. If you have 40 profile tyres, you can go as low as 60mm without experiencing any problems at all.

so if i got 40 tyres i could go 60 mil does that make a difference in handleing or just the same as a 40 mil drop

They are just stuck on with sticky pads so they pull off quite easily you could use a thin bit of wire (you will notice holes either side which the badges fit into once the badges are off these make it alot easier to line them back up again

will rub even without lowering at the back and on full lock with 45 profiles. Not hard to sort

My black VTR is down 45mm front on 195 45 15 VTS rims and 35mm rear with no scrubbing etc.

My Vts is down 60mm front and 80mm rear looks sweet - No rubbing at all from the rear but some rubbing on full lock at the front. You have to watch the arse end of the car though, being so solid and low as it can kick out easily in the wet, but sh1t hot in the dry!

Depends on the wheel offset also

he asking about 16's which everyone seems to have glossed over will rub even at stadard ride height

When I had 195 55 15's on my Saxo which was dropped 45mm front, 35mm rear it scrubbed on full lock and also the back would rub when the car bounced. Would recommned u uprate the rear shocks to stiff ones or you will scrub badly too. as the 55 profile I used to have is probably eqivalent to 16" wheels at least. Good Luck

I know 17s rub at standard height wouldnt know about 16s though mate.
