  11. #11
    50mm
  12. #12
yeah but your alloys are 16s, i think his are 15s, yours looks more like 60mm to me, the back of your car definately dont look 40mm to me for definates
  13. #13
he says he has vts 16" ?????

vts are 15" but they arnt them in the pic

mine is down 40/45mm on a g-max kit
  14. #14
seems like your car is about the same as mine, mines down 60 and looks very similar to your drop, maybe its because mines on 14s a dunno but seems like yours is down 60
  15. #15
If you want to compromise (SP) mate then go 40mm on the front and 50mm
    on the rear.

Mine was 40mm all round and it was too high at the back, now thats its 50mm
    it all looks spot on!
  16. #16
60 looks better but i dont want too many probs so i think ill go down 50 coz in the photoshop it looks too high down 40 so i guess ill go 50
  17. #17

  28. #28
well it is a lot more bumpier than standard but looks the dogs bollocks and you will get used to it after a few week when the suspension settles down, if your not sure just go for 50mm its a good compromise between the 2

also is your car a mk1 or mk2

my car is mark 2 i think, i dont think you can get spax 50 mil just 40 or 60 otherwise i would just go 50
  30. #30
you can get 50mm springs ill have a loof for you in a minute, also going down lower than 40 you will probablies have to watch the PAS pipe as it rubs on the steering/tracking arm, but its easily fixed just needs levering out of the way

EDIT Gmax do a 55mm lowering kit

is there any links on how to fix this mate as i have no idea what a PAS pipe is
  32. #32
gmax 55 mil is 200 quid i might as well get spax 60 mil for 175
  33. #33
There is faq on moving the PAS pipe i think mate!

I would go 40 if you have lots of speedbumps or cushions around your area. I have the Gmax 55mm kit (not fitted)

And my friend with a 106 lowered hers 40 on 15's and she's ripped her exhaust off twice and bottoms out alot, so im trying to get 35 springs lol

  43. #43
    are pi any good??
  44. #44
i have them and never had any trouble mate, others might disagree but they have been on my car for a good 3 and a half year and have not troubled me one bit
  45. #45
    cool thanks mate
  46. #46
also have to look on how long ive been on this site, so i would not recommend crap springs when ive been on here for 4 year
  47. #47
40 or 60 mill would buy a lot of shit so lets say 60 on a serious note do 40 and see how it feels i think 40 would be better
  48. #48
Me thinks woodsy's looks very very good height with the 16s, I have 16s ready for my vts (when a get it) think that will be the height for me. I think is looks well good + wont loose ur handling!

Anybody had both a 30mm drop and 60mm drop (roughly) on same car at different times and noticed a big difference in insurance price?

why is it alot more expencive to insure im going down 50mm soon so i might not tell my insurence if its a lot
  51. #51
depends on insurer but it was £50 extra on my old escort to lower 60mm and add 15" alloys.
