mmm not good!

I mentioned on another post that my car went sideways on the way home from work. I got dad in beside me this evening and i know why!! My suspension is so hard that at any bump the wheels are lifting off the road because the suspension is soo stiff. Its a sports green elf

have you had it lowered recently ??
  3. #3
Nope it is just standerd the way it sits with that suspension
  4. #4
so its not lowered at all???
  5. #5
The sports suspension makes it abit lower but the problem is how stiff it is
  6. #6
    how low is it??
  7. #7

Not really that low at all

which kit is it? unless you've fitted thicker rear torsion bars and rear anti-roll bar then the suspension isn't too stiff, sounds more like it's just hitting the bumpstops.

looks to be about 60mm, how fast are you taking corners exactly??
  10. #10
Try going a little slower haha, ive got my back wheels going in the air plenty of times my cars that stiff but i race around tracks so i got an excuse..
    slow down a little

think your having a few 'tail out' experiences, are you lifting mid corner when this is happenin by any chance?
  12. #12
raise the suspension then, looks like the rear is a bit lower than the front so give that a try, it's probably on standard dampers too
  13. #13
If the rear is lower than the front there is more chance of the rear end sliding out!

Sounds like you driving round corners way too fast? Must be for the wheels to come off the ground?

    think of weight this way

you are going in a straight line, you hit a bump, the suspension compresses, it hits the bumpstops before the bump has finished, the wheel bounces up, then you hit the top of the bump, you have hardly any weight on the wheel, therefore hardly any grip, the more weight you put on a tyre the more grip you can force out of it to a certain extent. put this theory into a corner and you have loss of grip, if its the outside wheel then you are going sideways/straight on depending on if its the front or rear wheel bottoming out.
