   wot is the disadvantages and advantages off puttin a 1.4 box in my vtr

   not an expert at this stuff mate but i THINK you would get a lower top end, but wait for the experts to wake up they'll know more about it

   I had a 1.6 transplant in my 1.3 f-reg escort and kept the 4 speed box in and the car was fast as hell, 0-60 about 8 secs, never really went over 90 in it so not sure about top speed.

   1.4 box wont do anything, but on the other hand, a 1.1 box will be a bit shorter in first few gears......last gear will top out pretty quick, mate did this in his quicksilver, 1.1 box, and toppes at 110!, try getting ur hands on a rallye box......if you find one!

   1.4 is the same as the derv box i thinky think.
