Fitted a pugsport

  1. #1
Me and my mate just fitted a pugsport to my car cos we got bored and its off his rallye atm.

and im not joking but the games were amazing.

it felt so much more responsive and just seemed generally quicker.

it looks complete gash. but im just gona buy a pugsport centre section and put a backbox on it.

  2. #2
I guess by games you mean gains??

I think personally mate it 'could' be just in your head (wishful thinging lol)

Mine should be comming tomorrow, at the rate Im going fitted by next year lol!

Get some pics up, let us have a look!
  3. #3
    YES! i meant gains.

Well my mate said it felt quicker and kicked more.

and i honestly thought i could feel a difference. could be my head. but id still buy the centre section for 80 quid.

works out cheaper than a magnex.

ill get pics 2moro in the light.

its not staying on. just till his rallye is back on the road.

fitting a 4 branch manifold on tuesday aswell to see if that helps

ill get the videos up of the rallyes running pugsports on the rolling road today. OMG!. JISM.

The pugsport only comes in decator a very expensive motorsport cat.

Basically the centre section is one looooong peice (inc decat), then you have
the 2nd peice of the system being the backbox.

If you just buy the center section and stick a different backbox on it your defeating the objecr of having this system, as alot of the gains come from the pug sport backbox as it generates ALOT of back pressure!!

My mate has one on his mk1 vts it does look silly as the tail pipe is so small, but damn it feels good when your in it, it feels realy heathly, i knows its only an exhaust but it seems to pull realy fooking well!

Oh he also has a decat and when you rev it on idle it bangs like a fire work hehe
  16. #16
hurry up and post pics and vid i wanna see this!! lol
  17. #17
i've got the pugsport and 4-2-1 manifold on mine it feels responsive and sounds amazin. but thats all changing soon as i'm goin 16v on the rallye
  18. #18
I imagin it hung pretty gash as well, reading alot into this in the past, but I hold judgment till Ive seen it.

I agree with riggsy, that the whole point of the exhaust is that is the complete package and bits will never work aswell as the complete item, but only you or a rolling road can tell if its making a difference or not.

As for fitment a good custom exhaust shop maybe able to slightly tweek the metal pipework so that the pipe hangs correctly and fits well.

    Intrested to see the pics
  19. #19
Gibs im sure the pugsport will still fit the 16v. Its the same fitment.
  20. #20
Where is the best place to buy the cnetre section from Rushy?
  21. #21
www.106parts.com are a dealer of pugsports items and list full systems back boxes and cats too. well worth a look David
  22. #22
Cheers mate, may get one at some stage. THough i think I'm just going to flog the sax now
  23. #23
What kinda direction you thinking of going if you sell the Sax?

    Sorry about the hijack
  24. #24
a pugsport will fit a 16v. as i know atleast 5 people with it.

ive just taken pictures. not doing the video till the cat comes off and stops restricting me

im uploading rolling road vids atm so i cant use photbucket.

but yea its sits really doesnt sit right. duno how much work it would take to get it right.

they do it in a 3 inch. which could look better on the sax.

i can get the centre section for 80 quid
  25. #25
P.S. please dont 16v another rallye.
  26. #26
    videos? exciting times!

Shut it you Fag ...... BHP per Pound its better to 16v a Rallye and thats a fact ,and the 2 that run yesterday had no choice really as both blew up there S2 8v engines and with 8v rallye lump totally thin on the ground 16v was the only way forward

i agree with 16v them if the engine blows.

but doing it just for more power is annoying. your killing off the rallye IMO.

    Mr Wolz.

Am I right in saying if I was to buy the pugsport centre section, would it meet up with a Magnex or Mongoose backbox?

Correct. hense why im doing it.

but im thinking of putting the pugsport full system on and adjusting the brackets.
  33. #33
    Interesting, interesting.......

I would LOVE the full system but im scared that it would fit really badly.

Please report back to me with how it goes.
  34. #34
it does fit badly. give me 2 seconds and ill post a pic of how its sitting right this second. just uploading another Rolling Road Video

    Excellent matey, cheers.
  36. #36

    Hope that helps.
  37. #37
    Nice, lol.

I think its safe to say it does not fit.

But that exhaust is SO nice!!!
  38. #38
it does fit. just the brackets are mounted different. bcos its made to sit under the bumper. i was tempted to get a smoothed back bumper and have it sitting under. or have the brackets bent to make it fit.
  39. #39
i got a nice vt bumper out the back it could be modified so that exhaust looks nice any takers on it £25 collected
  40. #40
would it be possible to have the tailpipe bent downwards and the recess in the bumper smoothed out? then you'd get the sound and not have to worry about a small pipe.
    1 user thanked this post:
  41. #41
LMAO thats so wrong! Nice one giving it a try though.

16v technically isnt better in a Rallye cus you can just strip a GTi to make it even
lighter than a Rallye if you want to!

Finally the Pugsport fits the 1.4 XSi, 1.6 XSi, S1 Rallye, S2 Rallye and the GTi!

What do you mean by bending it downwards.

you could smooth it out. but i think it will look shite IMO
  43. #43
    that looks good

i know why you have fitted it, and suppose it wouldn't be too bad if you smoothed over the whole cutout but why not just get the sax equivilant of the pugport? BTB..

    Its not over yet Rush.

i will make it fit and look good.

im definatly the centre section. and just buy a different back box if i have to. but i wouldnt mind the 3 inch pugsport back box and getting it to sit right.

    i set myself this challenge.

    Price.
  46. #46
i'd love a 2" pugsport on mine if it came out exactly where the cut out is.
  47. #47
price, yeah i can understand that. well doone for trying this though.

Soz mate, I was just wondering if its possible to either bend or trim the pugsport, and then smooth the recess in the bumper so you can't see the tailpipe. So its hidden in a euro stylee!
  50. #50
Must admit the picture look 101% itchy Gash :-)

Im sorry mate either get it hung correctly by a custom exhaust shop or lose it cos thats just silly :-P

Please dont take offense, after all its your car.
  51. #51
Just get the recess plastic welded up and chop the tailpipe off and get a donkey dick drop one welded on stealth then

    Take offence? noooooo

it was a pure experiment. i knew it looked gash. its not even my exhaust mate.

but my old exhaust is back on now. and i want the pugsport back.

i can really notice a difference in the 2.
  53. #53

Im really glad you didnt mind me making comments like that, I hate it when other people say stuff about stuff on my car

I reckon get yourself just the back box from www.106parts.com then get a custom exhaust shop to fabricate new hanges and pipe work so it hanges in the correct place, or failing that go for the stainless steel OMP item which has the same look of the PugSport and probally will performe the same
