Tyres - 155 to 165?

  1. #1
I hope this is a good place to start this thread... anyways,

Im due for new front tyres in a few week, just on the limit line now. My wheels are the saxo 1.1i standard, 155, 70, 13". Can I get the wider 165, 70, 13" tyres on my rims? I thought this may help the car with grip. Is it at all possible?

    Thanks.

toughy, not sure if the tyres exist and dont have time to have a look.

but if they are you can probably lower the profile slightly.

so look for a 165/65/R13 instead
Should give you a similarly rolling circumference to your originals, as well as reducing the movement of the sidewalls (which will aid handling to a certain degree)

    Thanks everyone,

I checked my tyres again, and all for are Mitchlin Energy 155/70/13" Radical.

I might ask at ATS when I get them fitted what they think about 165's aswel to see if its ok to.

Any more commenys are welcome. Not into getting new wheels really unless anyone has some 14" steelies from a saxo knocking around in the next 3months?

That i know of Michelin Energy's arent cheap man, could always get some VTR rims for the same price as replacing the tyres
