I have got a really cheapy little white saxo , and i was just wondering what things do you reckon i should do to it to make it look proper good, but they have to be cheap as i havnt much cash. I had one idea of spraying the airvents and console cover, but what else?

#2What about changing or spraying exterior lights?
-
#3Is it a non vt saxo?
It all depends really how much your lookin 2 spend. Is it a mk1 or 2?
Things like smokin front lights, fogs and rear lights changes the appearence massively, tinting windows, colour coding bumper strips aslo, all of which you could do urself. -
#4how would you spray the lights then. is a special type of paint needed?
-
#5Debadging, dewiper also looks good, if you wana challenge, you could attempt to lower your car urself which wudnt cost much, just get the springs and use standard shocks and dampers.
-
#6it is a mk2 model, but it is the most basic model i think yet it has tinted windows already.
-
#7How much would the springs cost ish?

Spraying front lights:
Take off the lights first
Get either hairdryer, heat gun or use oven and heat around the edges of the glass so that the glue goes soft
Carefully begin to prise off the glass from the rear of the unit (becareful not to crack plastic)
Pull out the insert
Rub insert down
Primer (couple of coats)
Paint (as many coats as you feel necessary)
Replace insert
Heat glue up again slightly
Re-attach the glass lens to the rear of the unit -
#9Thanks for that i might consider it when i get some spare time. Cheers!

#17for sale section on this site mateQuote:nah dont trust ebay ive ordered lots of things before and they havent came lol
some white alloys going ATm, would look well good on a white car (well, does in the pic)
bt dunno on price
if its a 1.1, like mine, some VTR alloys make it alot better (i think), and arnt that expensive -
#18another thing ou could do (dno if its been mentioned or not)
is mesh your front grill, or buy a dimma style one (off ebay i'm afraid, but only £40) use black mesh, and then spray your front light black, would look sweet!
well, i think it would, if i was good on photoshop, i'd show u what it would look like, but i'm not
sum1 else might do it for you though (hint, hint) -
#19Yeah it is a 1.1, how much exactly do VTR alloys cost.
The grill idea is quite good as mine is starting to get faded.
Unable to spray fog lights as i dont have any.
Thanks for all the ideas, keep them coming! -
#20you can usually pick a decent set up on here, for £100-£150ish usually likeQuote:Yeah it is a 1.1, how much exactly do VTR alloys cost.

i got my black one's for £70

#21For £70 that's well good, did they come with tyres and were they posted to you?
-
#22There are quite a lot of base model owners on here that have modded there cars, also quite a few current VT owners started with base models and worked their way up. So there are loads of easy ways to improve the looks of the car.
Modding on a budget doesnt mean the car will look like its been done on a budget , you just have to pick the mods carefully and tastefully. Ebay is a great place for cheap items and breakers yards (if there are any left).
Nice set of wheels would make the most diffence to the overall appearacne of the car but again they dont have to be 17' and chrome to look good.
If you like the motorsport look then a set of 106rallye steel rims on a white car could look good

Set of white mudflaps and away you go :-) -
#23no, i met him, and came with 2 practically brand new tyres onQuote:For £70 that's well good, did they come with tyres and were they posted to you?
but me uncles got a garage and that, so i got the other 2 wheels for £50, including all 4 fitted etc
£120 with 4 brand new tyres is a good price i think though
you just have to keep a look out on the for sale section bud -
#24buy a vtr interior for it lol. ive got one for sale 70quid and its yours lol
-
#25Think ive spent about £500 on my 1.1, and i am very happy with how it looks
206 15" alloys : £200
Proffesional window tints : £140
Peco backbox : £100
Induction kit : £20
Rear smoked lights (DIY) : £10 a can.
Then i got about £150's worth of ICE.
Mines a black saxo. -
#26But £500 is half the price of my car so thats quite a lot lol
-
#27buy some rims slam it and put an exhaust on it. maybe put the vt bodykit on
-
#28would he vt bodykit go on my saxo as it is the proper basic model
-
#29another problem would be getting the body kit sprayed i could easily fit myself though. how much does it cost to get your car sprayed?
-
#30I know what tomorrow when its light i will take a few pics of my car so ppl can ave a look at it!
-
#31its hard fpr me to buy things from england as i dont live in the mainland UK so shipping is v. expensive
