do you mean you are trying to get rid of the textured grain stuff on the plastic?

i'm possibly wrong, but can't you get a spray (primer i think) that fills any small holes as well as giving a paint coverage.
this saves the need to rub down.

sand down with wet and dry it will take a while and many sheets

then get plastic filler primer to make sure its all smooth

thats the stuff i was thinking of - plastic filler primer.

i've never used it, i just saw it in halfords when i was getting some stuff. do you still need to rub down a bit beforehand then?
