Hmmm struts

Right. I've just fitted a upper strut to my vtr and its making a hell of a creaking noise. When i turn corners, when i stop, generally when i do anything. I removed the current nuts/washers. Fitted it then tightened it.

Is there something i did wrong?

I think the noise is because the strut is metal on metal with the top on the suspension holding thingie... Could that be it? My dad is getting me some fibre washers to see it that will do it but i was just wondering if anybody has had this happen when fitting a strut??

Its a sparco if that helps.

    nah mate doesnt on mine

just took the nuts off put the strut brace on and tightened it up

but if its creaking yeah a think the washers will do the trick either that or give it a few weeks to bed in

Cheers. Does sound pretty bad mind. Sounds like my car is falling apart lol.

Anychance it could be too tight?

I'm gonna try the washers in abit and hope that'll work.

Dont be saying that. I'll start getting worried. The nylon washers sorted the noise so i'm happy

It can fall apart around me and long as its not noisy!

prob is. i wouldn't have guessed it but then my dad just pointed out the obvious that its metal on metal and its bound to move. put nylons on and hey presto
