Hey Guys, recently picked up my 2001 saxo (98bhp version) and think its time for the mods to start. Just wondering which induction kit to fit?
Willing to spend as much as i need too.

    Cheers

If you want noise, go for open air filter for example piperx, K&N. However if you want performance go for enclosed like BMC.

so you will be looking at an enclosed induction

    green enclosed
raceland one (with green replacement filter) www.kam-racing.co.uk
    or a BMC

ive just fitted my green induction cost me 210 but most people buy the raceland one with green filter at half the cost only thing is the funnel says vts in embossed letters

Gonna go with the BMC, do you think thats the best option?

BMC does the job pretty well mate, can't really go wrong with one

i got a raceland enclosed one on my quikky, it does work out at like half the cost of the Green one but gives a wicked noise due to the air box and ally pipe.

excellent buy...i just need to get the bigger green filter in

    recommended buy!!

at the end of the day there'll be only a small difference performance wise between the various enclosed induction kits, as they all do pretty much the same job. I'm as bad as anyone for purchasing the most expensive items available for my cars though.

I reckon you would be very happy with a scoop enclosed filter like the ones KamRacing offer - either with the standard cone supplied with the scoop or the Green cone upgrade.

You wont get as much of an induction noise as say an open filter but open cone filters can suffer from heat soak and over time on a longer drive can suffer and lose performance.

Like KamRacing stated most will pretty much do the same job some slightly better but its more a case of compliments mods with each other ie

    Good Inducton kit
    Good Manifold (4branch 4-2-1 or 4-1)
    and
    Good Exhaust system

One on their own wont see much gain but put together your see a good gain in perfomance and drivablity :-)
