decatting this week (maybe)

hi, another exhausting question, i currently have a custom cat back exhaust, and i am looking into getting it decatted this week or next week, will it be alright runnin it with a standard manifold just until i can afford one
and what are the good and bad bits about deccatin

good point are that there is alot less restriction on the exhuast gases coming out of your engine which will increase performance

the bad point is that it will fail an MOT on your emissions been too high.

then the tricky one is that it could possibly make your exhuast sound louder. some people think this is good and others think its bad.

have you got a ml1 or mk2?
im taking it that you have an mk1, you can just get a cat replacement pipe for about £50 and then when it comes to MOT time you can just swap them over

well, im gettin it done at my local custom exhuast place, the feller who i have a lot to do with is offering it me for £50 supplied and fitted and he said he can sort it out at MOT time not quite sure weather he wants me to give him a few quid on the side and yeah it is a mark 1, its already fairly loud but my brother had a mk2 furio and when decatted his wasnt any louder than mine just popped more, also how can i get it flaming or at least spitting little flames?

iv had mine done, sounds to loud mate to be honest, not a huge fan. cant really tell the diff in power either

m8 ive got my mark 1 vtr de catted and it is very loud and backfires aswel if that is what you want!!! ive got a 4" janspeed backbox with a pipercross induction kit and its defening lol
