Removing Manifold Cover

  1. #1
Right this could sound silly ... but better to be safe than sorry ....
Im going to be painting my manifold heatshield cover tommorrow. Theres a lead in the centre of the cover that goes to a fuse connecter (green) Just wondering once engine has fully cooled down if its safe to take this lead out so i can remove the manifold cover? (Need it off to paint)
Also whilst im here ... can i get a cover to cover the fuses in engine. Im not too sure what it is, left hand side in engine, 3 wires come out it. Thanks

the lead to your manifold will be your Lamda sensor, these are about £120 from Citroen if you break it so take it steady.
on the green clip face the side that is red towards you and pull it towards you. i had to use a small screwdriver to get it free. the red clip will slide out and then just pullet the plug a part, job done.

make sure you use heat temp paint as your heat shield gets very hot

You dont need to use high temp paint, ive used normal car spray paints on mine and theyre fine.

didnt really read this thread but to get the lamda sensor out you've got pull apart the green and red connection (carefully) if this is a bit tricky get a pair of pliars and squeze the the black bit that holds it in and gentky pries apart.
    hope that helps
