more bloody problems

   What are the tell tell signs that you catalytic converter is on the way out because my one is making mad sounds like cracking. I thought it was shield on the bottom of the converter so I took it off put the noise is still there. Do you think the bolts from the manifold are just loose or is the cat finally dead??

   Thats not your cat. when ya cat gos you will know because you will smell it. Your cat carnt crac its just a filter inside. if it broke its like foam tearing. how do you know it is your exhuast making the noise?

   the noise happens when I start up the car and in every gear there is just a small shaking noise when I am slowing down.

   The cat is ceramic so it can crack as far as I'm aware. Have you checked that it's not something like your exhaust hitting the heatshield?

   Well i took the heatshield off on sat but the noise is still there, I was going to stick on the de-cat on over the weekend to see if the cat is busted.

   there has been a doggy smell but the main thing is the noise!!!! i cant take it no more!

    the noise got bad today really bad, just cracking and shaking sound, can anyone else shed some light on this problem?

    I had this mate i think, it was a crusty exhuast rubber hanger. They lubed it up and it sounds better now. Sounded like metal on metal, cracks and whines

    yeah its metal on metal, cracks and whines sound.
    Dingle -- i did that but the sound is still happening so thats why i think its inside the cat!
