  1. #1
booked my car in garage for monday
to have my brakes put on,,,,

im going to go and give them a quick touch up now with paint...

    he asked

" do they need spacers etc " as Its gonna cost more etc and i wont get them done on monday if so!

    i said id double check...

all im aware is that he has to take a little bit off the carrier..

    am i right?

you are as far as I am aware. Yes.
  3. #3
anyone else vouch for that... would like to hear from people that have fitted them etc
  4. #4
as long as you are using a semi decent 15" rim you'll be fine. I've run them previously
  5. #5
you will need some spacers if you are useing the 106\saxo calliper bolts but not if you use the 306 bolts.

The saxo ones are longer so need a spacer or just some washers.

    I have standard Vts rims...
would be cheaper to get the 306 bolts would it not?
  7. #7
the brakes should fit fine behind the wheel mate without spacers i'm on about the callipers the bolts that hold the callipers to the hub the saxo ones are longer than the 306 ones so need a spacer to make them fit right or just go to Pug and get some off a 306.

i have fitted a few gti6 setups now and all u need are some washers to put on the caliper bolts, that is all no wheel spacers or anything jsut washers.

100% mate, it jsut a few washers that the garage should have thats all, the washer acts as a spacer which is why people get confused coz some people say u need spacers but realy its jsut a few washers that go on the bolts because if u dont the saxo bolts tighten before its agaisn teh caliper carrier so u put the washers on and its sorts it

Thats what I did! Although no grinding of the carrier or strut, mine just bolted straight on, bar the washer needed to keep the carrier tight against the strut
