    Hi,
Witch phase do you think will do better job phase1 or phase3. I think phase3 newman cams are similar like piper cams ultimate cams. Do you think it will be possible to have normal daily drive with this cams or it will idle very bad and there will be big lag of power in lower rpm's? Please help me with opinions it's very hard to decide.

its all about the cam lobes mate and back of the cam lobe

this is a normal cam from our zetec rebuild

    Attachment 4136

and this is an very agressive cam look at the lobs

(i got to download it off my laptop will do it later)

I take it your lookin for a 16v cam. The PH3 are slightly longer duration & higher lift that catcams 708s which seem to be the most popular fast road cams at the moment.

As long as you have a decent remap after the cams have been fitted the idle shouldnt be bad atall. I thin kthe PH1 cams are a little tame for the money you would spend getting them & a remap.

Myself and i think most ofther (if not al) of the 16valvers will be getting the PH3 cam though. MrOrange should have the exact figures when hes online though

Do you think i will need to rise the compression ratio with this camshafts? Because my mechanic told me that the head need to be skimmed and ported.

If rise the compression ratio i will probably need to use petrol with very high octane.

Not sure about raising compression, i know alot of people have some head work done when they get cams though (it makes sense i suppose, since the remaps are so expensive, you might aswell do as much as you can before you have one)

You would have to do alot more work than a skimmed head & cams to warrant high octane fuel though. 95 octance will be fine. It wouldnt do any harm to use 97 though
