Whats the difference??

Whats the difference between the Phase 1 and Phase 2 VTR's that give the Phase 2's 98bhp?

Less restrictive Inlet manifold? ECU changes? Different cam profile? Compression ration change? Better designed head?

oh dear this topic again lol

they are all the same bhp?

changes were made due to emission control i think, unsure on what however

cat was moved to the manifold though rather than underneath

do a search mate and right section

but i am sure different cams (dont quote me on that), more efficient ecu(3 plug), some phase 2's are 90bhp for the record

as said cat's in the manifold! 2 sensors aswel where as 90bhp has one.

90bhp seem to be better to mod, cheaper aswell! more expensive to buy exhausts and green induction kits for the 98bhp. also different interior think that adds a few bhp!

Only more expensive for exhaust is because cat is in manifold so its a manifold back exhaust, not that much more expensive.

Also induction kits are more expensive for 98bhp saxo, thats bull S**t too lol

Not having a dig mate just what i have came across thats all, and yeah exhausts more expensive cos its manifold back!

The only main difference is the cams and valves. We have 2 racing vtr in the garage and the cam n valves are different and timings are different. If you put a phase 1 ecu in a phase 2 you will get 101bhp. O yer and the inlet maifolds are different but bother produe the same bhp.

good explanation! the 98bhp's throttle body is plastic aswel isnt it?

may i ask how the single ecu is better than the 3plug? for tuning that is.
