powder coating?

   Where can you get wheels powder coated as i might get my wheels done in white and how much is the average cost? cheers

   Usually around £25-£40 per wheel. Ring around mate and search for the best quote.

   Most places will charge you about £40 per wheel (depending on size) as they will have to burn off any paint on the wheel already, repair any damage and then powder coad them.
   
   I've had 3 sets of wheels done by a local company and I would def recommend powder coating over painting.

   they usually shot blast or sand blast to get paint off

   what are the advantages disadvantages of powder coating over painting??

   powdercoating is a far more hard wearing, wont chip as easily as paint or scrape as easily.
   
   I had my wheels powdercoated about 5 years ago and now they are simos, they still clean up like new

   Your probally have to supply the company with the wheels with the tyres already removed which for some people can be a problem as they have nothing to put the car on while the wheels are off the car.
   
   Best place to start is:
   1) Yellow pages - dont be suprised if people either dont want to do a small job like that or will over price the job to put you off.
   2) Ask around in the local area section nearest you and see if any one can recomment a company.
   
   If your looking to have the wheels done, why not make it more appealing to the powder coating company by getting more stuff done at the sametime ie Rocker cover/s and anything else metal that would be on show :-)

    I took them there with the tyres on. They removed the tyres, powder coated the wheels, refitted and rebalanced. They have all the kit in house to be able to do it. My 17's worked out at £160 all in and that included painting the red rim! Good set of guys there
    
    You can even drive your car up on the wheels you want doing, they will keep the car until the wheels are done and call you when it's ready to collect with the wheels refitted

    Wow That Sounds like a REALLY good service!
    
    Prices seem very good as well for the amount of work you had done
    
    If you are anywhere near there Id get them done asap
