gearbox problem

   hey you lot i've got another problem, a few people have told me that its my gearbox synchro already but im not sure.. any1 got any ideas.. when i change into second gear i get a nice crunching sound as if i didnt have my clutch rite down!!! and also how much are new gearboxs what should i get and HELPP ! thanks

   synchro is certainly one option, however i would try adjusting the clutch cable first and see if that makes a difference. new box is £££'s, second hand vts/gti 'box is around 150-200ish. could be worth looking into having your 'box reconditioned.

   get a garage to do it if your not sure
   
   alot of boxes do this ESPECIALLY when they are cold ... i always miss 2nd out for a couple of miles and mines evan a reconed box too!!!

   adjusting the clutch is easy, 2 nuts on the end of the cable, 10mm spanner on the inner one to hold it, wind in the outer nut with a 13mm spanner. repeat until the pedal feels 'normal'.

   nope, its under the battery
