Induction kit

Hi, i have a standard vtr but i was thinking of putting an greedy airinx 2 induction kit on it, what sort of extra performance can i expect with this, also looking to get it lowered by 40mm, if anyone has some good recommendations for suspention kits would be appreciated, cheers

May see slightly better throttle response. but might not notice to much.

i got 11.45bhp from just a induction kit and exhaust.

your not gonna get much performance from an open filter mate just noise and a bit of power, the best kits are enclosed and offer a much more effective way on getting power

as for suspension it all depends on how much you want to spend and if your fitting it yourself or gettting it professionally done

What kind of price are you looking at for enclosed. Im not lowering it myself, i just wanted to save a bit of money getting the kit then getting some one to do it.

looking at about £150 + mate, i think you can get cheaper ones off ebay though.

Imporvements from changing for standard OE setup work like this IMO
(Improvements over standard - marks out of of 10)

K&N/Green/BMC - Panel filter - Slight improvement but a rolling road will probally only be able to show the diffenece - 2 out of 10

K&N/Pipercross/Green/Quickshift - Open cone induction kit - noticable diffence in performance, engine more free reving, a louder induction roar but will suffer from Heat Soak (sucking in warm air) needs a good supply of cold air via cold air feed - 4 out of 10

Green/RaceLand - Ram Air Enclosed induction kit - this is a compact cone inside a scoop that forces trap air around the cone, very good gains in perfomance and will not suffer form Heat Soak as a open cone would, only problem IMO holes in slam panel not big enough to allow good amounts of air into scoop - 7 out of 10

BMC/Viper - Encolsed Filter - This is the top of the range enclosed filter with a direct air feed into a encolsed filter, totally shut away from hot air under the bonnet, about as good as you can get outside of a Race Car Cold Air Box setup - 9 out of 10

Encolsed is the way to go if your looking for best gains over standard setup but at a cost, open filters offer a cheap, fair gain over standard and offer a good induction roar basically

Open = Noise
Enclosed = Performance

I think the item sold by KamRacing is a good priced item that you would be more than happy with. You can have the item with the standard RaceLand item but well worth paying the extra for the Green internals.

You wont find anything that peformes as well for that kinda money as the slightly better totally enclosed BMC/Viper items are about £200 although Slightly cheaper unbranded items are out there mainly on eBay

Which ones would fit a 2000 Furio, would it be the vtr ones? not worried about performance, just would like a bit of music! Green or Piper?
