#2You most probably won't be able to stop all the rattles especially if you've got a sunroof but the easiest thing to do is measure the main part of the roof lining behind the sunroof presuming you have one, cut a piece of cardboard to fit, then glue a layer of carpet onto it on both sides, the kind of stuff you use for boot installs and slide it between the roof and lining. It might be a good idea to put one between the lining and sunroof cover aswell. If it still rattles then add another sheet or clue the carpet sides aswell and press it into the roof so it sticks between the ling and roof although it should do a pretty good job and won't be visable. Do the same round the sunroof sides or use a thin layer of loft insulation hope that helps it's what i've done lol

#3i'm not sure how to remove it but you should be able to stop the rattling without doing a bodge job like mentioned above.
you will need to remove all the bits of trim that touch the head lining. so a, b and c pillar trims, grab handles, sun visors, sun roof console, light and some other bits. once all these bits have been removed it should come out pretty easily i would have thought. -
#4If you are intent on removing the headlining here's how to do it:
Start at the back of the car, remove the boot rubber along the top and the rear window rubbers. Pull at both sides of the roof lining and it should become unclipped from 2 clips (one each side)
Next, remove the grab handles using a t15 torx driver and any blanking clips.
You should be able to pull the roof lining down to the front doors now.
Then remove the door rubbers along the roof line and the "A" pillars, remove the handle for the sunroof and the plastic surround using a torx driver and the rest of the lining should pull down. It might need a hefty tug as it is glued to the roof in places!
You will then be left with the sunroof cover which will bend and pop out, and there are 3 supporting plastic trims which can be removed with a 6mm spanner.
Refit all rubber trims and plastic trim above the tailgate and Bob's your uncle!
Chances are it's just your sunroor handle rattling though! -
#5I have the same problem with my 2002 VTR, rattlign sunroof, not the handle, the actual glass part itself, all bolts are tight holding it in, its just the arms that support the opening and moving of it, im not sorried. Although my roof needs a replacement as it is black from where i smoke in the car, black roof lining would be good!

#6i have a similar problem, my sunroof handle rattles, is really loose for some reason?? Also my sliding sunroof cover moves all around the roof, like its not in the runners or something and there are nuts missing off both sides of the sunroof rails just inside the sliding cover, they rattle like fook!!!

#7My roof mainly rattles just behind the sunroof cover so basically over the rear seats it rattles like fook. I can push it up and it stops vibrating so what Im thinking is that when my alarm was fitted they broke the clips or didnt put it back properly. Gonna remove it to see whats what....

#8i have exactly the same problem as above...it's sooo annoying...think im going to investigate as well and maybe bodge it as said in a post on this thread earlier.
