  12. #12
Ahh i know what you mean, not sure where to get these from tbh?

It helps get air into the bay doesnt it?
  13. #13
On the mini you can just take the bonnet off the hinges and re attach it using only the end bolt bit of a bodge but if its just for a track day or something it should be fine
  14. #14
Cant find them anywhere though can only find them for fiesta/escort rs turbo! Hopefully someone will know if you can get um,,,
  15. #15
Is it the ones that the pug 106 come standard with like hydraulics, if so someone posted about this the other day and apparently the saxo frame cant take the strain of the bonnet lifters
  16. #16
    No not them ^
  17. #17
    ok
  18. #18
The ones your talking about Claire are off a 106 and are used to raise the bonnet when opened

The things he wants keeps the bonnet slightly open all the time to allow more air into the engine bay, well thats what i think they are for.

thanks riggsy, although wont it look a bit out of place then

You just want some hinge spacers. Doesn't allow more air into the engine but it allows hot air to escape easier!

You can probably make some yourself or just buy some thick washers and place them on the hinge when you reattach the bonnet.

Welcome to sax-p, by the way!

Yes i think it looks stupid but some people like it.

It's not really a styling mod, more of a performace mod.

I know that, that was aimed at Claire ^

theres a lad on here with them, hes got a red vt? i think its a mk1 tho ,, i shall try and find it for you

I'd try and just get some spacers etc as saxo180 said, it would work.

Alot of fords do this, helps hot air escape. I really don't understand people that do it on opposite opening bonnets, makes it easy to get to the bonnet latch and gain entry lol!

would also trap air underneath the bonnet and possibly cause it to be ripped off. A few lads on 106 owners club have bonnet raisers on their 106's so you could try and ask them where they got them or how they did it.

I like the look of them on some cars. . . not sure they would suit a mk2 saxo . . . mabey a mk1 tho, but would like to see pics of one done!

Anyway, all they are is a section od square bar (usually alluminium) that sits between the hindge and the bonnet, just drill the holes in the right place on the bar and get some longer bolts.

I have them on my MK2, check my posts for a pics thread. You can use sockets as spacers and get some longer bolts or for £20 on eBay you can get a kit.
