Exhaust making the engine jerk!?

  1. #1
Hey people my local garage told me my exhaust (3" Peco) is probably causing the problem on my 1.1. it jerks when putting the accelerator down in all gears, sometimes badly and sometimes not at all.

Then sometimes the engine light comes up and goes later, and the diagnostics has been done twice and there is no problem, and the plugss and coil pack been replaced. What else could it be? do i need to go back to a standard exhaust, or will the vtr exhaust fit onto the 1.1? I got a feeling the engine cant handle the exhaust pressure. is this making sense?

    Any help appreciated. Thanks

    Has it got a decat?

If your traveling at a constant speed and u back off the accelerator ever so slightly to let the engine begin slowing the car, does it jerk then?

And if you were to ease back onto the throttle again would it jerk then?

Might be your differential, also i wouldnt rule out the rear engine mount, depnding on the kind of knock it is!

no decat riggsy. And it never jerks when going at a constant speed, it is more so when are slow down to turn and start accelerating outta the turn and it jerks: when i go back on the throttle.

You don't think it is the exhaust; as i had no problem when i had the standard one on. And thats what the mechanic saying

Nah dont think its the exhaust then.

One of the things Mystic said i think.

Mine jerks when you let off the gas when its cold, but thats because it has full system manifold decat bla bla.
