#2insurance depends on differant things but in no particular order :-
admiral
direct line
quinn direct
elephant.co.uk
hastings
confused.com and moneysupermarket.com/insurance are search engines but best to contact the insurer direct as these make a profit off your qoute/policy -
#3same engine as my furio i believe so its 75bhp standard
0-60 = slow.
top speed about 105.
insurance as stated above
-
#4Westcoast Spec:
Max Power Output - 74bhp
Max Torque - 82lbft
Top Speed - 109mph
0-62mph - 12.9secs -
#812 miles of private land!! wow thats alot of land! who ownes that then!?
-
#1012 miles of racing on private land, sounds fun
-
#11ive checked parkers for mine
its a saxo 1.1i sx
0-60 in 12secs, i think thats pretty quick for a small engine,
Top speed- 101 mph, ive got 110, but it wouldnt supprise me if the speedo was out.
A 1.4 Westcoast's 0-60 is 10.8, top speed - 109mph and has 75bhp -
#12LOL, where are these 0-60's coming from?
0-60=10.8
top speed 110mph
Slag it and it will be on the way to vtr performance with a 4 branch..
www.parkers.com or www.parkers.co.uk .. cant remember which! -
#13parkers guides are the biggest bag of shit lies to ever enter this world!!!
-
#14Fair enough chap, but i have raced various vtr's on private roads of course and they just cant get away, and trust me they are alot faster than 12.9 secs to 60, lol..
-
#16Well they aint are they as parkers show westies at 10.8 to 60
-
#18also, bhp isnt everything,i know that the 1.4 TU engines and possibly all of them have lighter fly wheels than most cars in the same catogory. Hence why a corsa 1.4 8v with 75bhp does 0-60 in 14 or 15 secs and the westy does it in 10.8 on paper! Dont say a saxo is lighter than a corsa b as they are about the same i should imagine! Citroen had to do something to the 8v's to make them competetive with other companies 1.4 16v units, so they put lighter flywheels in.. Lose out a bit on torque but rev out loads quicker!
Good old PSA group eh!
-
#19i put down my 1.1 does it in 12.9 secs, i puty about the westcoast at the bottom of my postQuote:Fair enough chap, but i have raced various vtr's on private roads of course and they just cant get away, and trust me they are alot faster than 12.9 secs to 60, lol..

quite nippy cars for what they are.. -
#20so you did mate, sorry! lol
-
#21nippy 1.4 you want a 205 xs they are nippy 4 1.4 westcoasts r sssssooooooooooo slow get a vtr
-
#22My furios 0-60 in still countin
-
#23tbh when I had a VTR, furio's and westcoasts scared me,
theyre not a great deal slower. -
#24yea i dnt know how peopl can say 1.4's are slow that have prob never been in one. 10.8 isnt excatly slow for a 1400. mu mate has a mk1 vtr, engine has 110k on and mine keeps up with it until about 70 then he starts 2 pull away. strip it and a few small changs and they will keep up with sum vtrs quite easy.

#25Im quite impressed with my westcoast.
Iv got a magnex De-cat and an induction kit.
Iv had 113/114 mph out of it!
and i know im sad, n im sad enuf to time it 0-60, just to prove parkers is a load of bollocks i got a tad under 9 seconds! Pretty impressed!
-
#26with a stop watch?
-
#27the clock is shocking though. do it to bout 65
-
#28lol, yeh with a stop watch
-
#29Them Westcoast aint slow slow.......but there not fast.......just a slower version of the VTR........i drove a Furio which has the same engine and i wasnt impressed obv but i was gutted cos it was just fine for a 1.4
I cud tell the difference soon as i got bk in my VTR so much more power through the rev range, but it does have like 25bhp more and alot more torque
Though im finding my VTR slow now......time for Kent Cams, Vener Pulleys, Superchip, remap, manifold, stainless exhaust system & CDA Filter.......then ill be flying
VTR's will win in a race cos they will just pull away at higher speed and do you on top speed.......if u was to race around a small bendy track there wudnt be much in it......obv the VTR prob will get past after a while though -
#30why not just a vts engine instead the mods if your just looking for speed.
-
#31I wud like a VTS engine but id rather just buy a VTS then put an engine in myn.......though i wud like to see how the VTR engine will perform with these mods on........and i wanna see peoples Faces who drive Starlet GT Turbos and VTS's when they see a VTR fly past them

Though them GT turbos aint fast fast.......hardly gets away from me, in my basicly standard VTR -
#32I'll race any std-ish VTR to any speed upto 100mph..
Throw some corners in and bye bye.. -
#33i went down to santa pod....i knows its a place where you test your own car but obviously when wen 2 drivers are testing there cars, they are going at it with each other. I got 4 drives in. Came up with a westcoast 2 times and i beat them by 4-5 seconds! i killed a 1.4 16v polo by 3 seconds and got raped by the.......you guessed it.....vts! ....overall westcoast are rapid but it will never touch the VTR, be it on a drag or country farmer roads!
-
#34jus wackin a vts lump in you saxo for speed seems like a good idea, but personally id rather have for example a VTR lump and tune it up to the vts standards, then ethen when i look back on what iv done, it'l be quite impressive.Self satisfaction!
