Electric Folding Mirrors

    Anyone done this on a saxo? So they fold in when the ignitions off. Would like to know how much it would cost, just out of interest

    lol havent you spent like 3 grand on yours mate? But i think it would be a bit different, prob cost loads but someone must have done it

    4 grand lol fair enough good point.

    would need actuators, control unit, wiring etc etc plus custom fabrication. Wouldn't of thought you would have much change from 400-500 notes.

    willsy is doing 307 mirrors and im sure they fold in but am not sure just do them manually lol

    i didnt think 307 mirrors folded in.

    i would have thought it would be possible if you used mirrors from a car where they do fold in when the ignition is off. then it would just be a case of wiring and adapting the base plates as willsy is doing.

    the mirrors will probably cost a fair bit in the first place as its only more expensive cars that have this feature. i've only seen them on a bmw.

    it would be cool to see it on a saxo though.

    get the motors etc and wiring from a car what has them

    newer bmws have them
    ftos have them
    newer golfs
    gtos have them i think

    all i can think of at the mo

    Yea might look into it, i think Mr twos have em too. Might ring up the bloke that did my alarm see what he thinks

    why not just get out your car and quickly fold them in...saves money

    I know and i do, just think it would be a cool touch. Def wont happen if it costs hundreds but might look into it for something to do in the future

    you could try going to a scrappy and yoink them off

    When Willsy showed his efforts at fibreglassig some new mirros onto his saxo, this was exacly my suggestion

    My mates GTO's mirrors did that, i always thought it looked kewl

    i can get them on starlet turbos aswel and ek9 civics. not auto folding but will fold at a press of a button
