which number plate light?

i got my boot smoothed about 18 months ago, and since then, i've been driving around with my number plate on my bumper (as in my avatar) but without a light.
i've finally decided i'd better get a permanent light fixed up!

i've been looking on ebay, and i've found these so far...which do you think...

this one, with postage, is about £12, and also available in black i think

or there is this one. however, i'd need two of these (one for either side). these are £15 each

which do you think would look best?

edit: i think the first one states it is for a motorbike, although there is no reason as to why it wouldn't fit a car. the only problem might be trying to hide the wire.
thats the advantage with the second one, as the wire goes straight through, if that makes sense?

the first one would fit but it might cause problems not lighting up the whole plate (and the police dont need much of an excuse to get penickity).

do you really not think it would light up the whole plate? i thought with the angles of the LED's it would be alright.

    here's a picture of it in the dark;

on looks, do you think the chrome one would be neater (although it might stand out too much), or the black LED bolts as they might not be so obvious as the chrome thing, but they may look untidy.

That first one i bought about 15 of them when i used to mod peopls PCs for them. There cheap tack, i dont think they would last long outdoors, their also not very watertight. The wires inside are mostly covered in silicone but theres no guarentee that it will al be covered up!

They were about 80p each when i bought them from eBuyer. They dont sell them anymore though.

you thought about looking into a 106 recess instead?

could always try TVR plates from craigsplates, the numberplate lets light shine through from the back think the light kit is about 30 and plates bout 20, but they do look good and it will be different

EDIT have a read here http://www.craigsplates.com/tvr-backlit-plate.html

i went to the pound shop and bought a pack of 2 led bolt type things and just made a small bracket and screwed it in behind my number plate.drilled a small hole through the bumper which cant be noticed-fed the wire underneath and up into the boot and wired it to the sidelights-job done.i'l post a pic up later tonite when its a bit darker outside

brian, the body shop that smoothed my boot for me did say they could also smooth in a 106 recess for me but at the time i couldnt afford for that to be done as well.
and while i suppose it's an option now, i don't really want to spend too much more on this car.

predator, thanks for the link. i looked into TVR plates ages ago, but i couldn't find any details of where i could get some.
that site offers them, but as of yet, there are no pictures of them, and you also have to have the company's details at the bottom of the plate. something i didnt really want as i like my plain ones i already have.
still, thats also an option, so thanks.
brian, do you know where i might find some pictures of the cars you mentioned?

coldo, if you can get some pics i'd appreciate it.

probably will end up failing it.but at least ive got the wiring all in place so all i have to do is snip it off before the light and then solder a bigger one in place for sake of MOT.its only temp anyways until my bodykit gets painted
