Am looking at replacing my front and rear brakes, only the discs and pads, mind!

Just want opinions on what pads/discs are good ones to have.

have been told that you cant buy drilled and grooved discs for the rear, only vented pads!

    Opinions please saxo headz

What are vented pads lol you mean vented discs? The front has vented discs where as there rear dont, is that what you mean?

Drilled and grooved discs dont do alot more than standard discs, they look better and you will have less brake fade.

Looks like he has a vtr according to profile.

Dont bother going for drilled/grooved standard sized discs as they wont make any difference from standard really.

Get some 306 gti-6 brake set up as you will see a good improvement.

there isnt much point in buying drilled and groved disks for the back mate as the back brakes only do about 15% of the braking, just get them for the front and new standard discks and pads for the back. Apparently tarox are good.

There will be no discernable difference between drilled/grooved discs and standard vented discs.

I would personally get standard discs, front and back and replace the pads with MINTEX 1144 pads.

When you bleed the brakes replace the fluid with DOT5.1 and invest in some braided hoses that don't bulge under pressure!

That little lot should cost you about £150 all in if you fit them yourself.

Alternatively , as Dan said replace the entire set up with a larger diameter set from a 306, 206, berlingo etc. Plenty out there to chose from

i have drilled and groved discs. i think they are a lot better hardley any fade but mind you my old brakes were on the metal so new biscs and pads would make a big diffrence to what they were like b4

I have a VTR at the moment but am picking my VTS up next week. How easy is it to fit GTI-6 discs and pads? any caliper changing involved?

I can do brakes very easily, jsut not sure how to replace the whole lot with that of another car.

ive got some 306 S16 front brakes and they went straight on with no messing about. the disc's are Mintex and so are the pads and they are shit hot. they still need to bed in because im getting alot of fade at the minute. they cost me £140 alot together and i would recommened then to anyone, priceerformance

if you have the cash then maybe get some groved/drilled discs on the front.
Wouldnt bother getting anything special on the rear stick with standard discs.

Actually i have groved + drills discs up front (duh totally forgot!) but my
    discs are bigger than standard.
