I thought I would like a nice new painted rocker cover and a clean manifold cover, mine looked kank, but on ebay rocker cover =£59 and manifold cover =£20.
just as an off chance when I was at citroen I asked the new price from spares, rocker £20 manifold £9, just have to paint them with heat proof paint £7 Total price £36

You don't need to use heatproof paint, normal paint will be fine for the rocker cover. Plus heatproof paint looks cack aswell.

Get some quartz silver from halfords.

Well it all depends on you matey,

You could use nitro mors first and strip all the paint off it.
Sand it down till its totally smooth.
Spray a couple of coats of "ETCH" Primer
Spray the heat resistant spray.. known as "VHT" (Very High Tempreture)
And if you want shine to the cover laquer it 4 or 5 times.

Or you could spray the VHT spray straight on, then laquer, should be good for a few years still!

Im doing it with a Honda rocker cover and just spraying it straight on without any primer..
