vtr exhaust

can i get a good exhaust system that will improve my mk2 vtr, don't want anything loud just for performance..

i also want to keep the cat for MOT

can i have a straight through pipe if i still have the cat?? and what manifold should i get so i dont have to modify much as i've heard loads about moving the oil filter?

if you want performance go for something like magnex or piper however im one of those that rate custom exhuasts, you would just have to go for a cat back system or you can have a system with an interchangable decat pipe as you can put the cat back in for mot time if you decat as well as exhaust you will see more of a gain

99% of custom exhausts will kill performance not improve it.
  4. #4
mine didnt so i have to disagree on that one or maybe im the 1% lol altho have seen some shocking custom exhuats mind 90 degree bends!!!

what proof have you got? where did you get it made?

to prove it made a difference you will of had your car rolling roaded, then in same day ahve exhaust fitted an tested on same rollers?

the rolling road results, my car is the 90bhp standard engine, longlife exhausts made it for me in cardiff

was it rolling roaded before it was fitted on the same day and on the same rollers? if not then dont take rolling road results too serious.

no it wasnt and im not, im just saying for people not to slate custom exhausts straight away as some of them are pritty good

Janspeed custom made mine and its miles better than an off the shelf jobby

its the way customs are bent though. yes the quality and build of them can be very good but they tend to be bent so they get thinner at the bends. this can slow exhaust gasses, cause turbulance in gasses and at worst reverse them slightly.

im not on about janspeed. im on about powerflow and the like. janspeeds are well made and bent properly.

longlife mandrel bend theres well the cardiff branch do

copied from maxpower, or halfords cat by any chance? actually its on the powerflow site aswel!

That depends highly on where its made and who does it, as there is some shitty powerflow centres so i read.

yea its from powerflow is just a general ideal of exhaust systems!
  18. #18
no way imo will a powerflow make the most power.
