my car is vtr 2001 model

i did have a magnex back box fitted to my old vtr but i didn't like it as it stuck out to far and wasn't very loud

so I'm after a new one any ideas i want something quite loud and performance would be a bonus

sounds well nice roughly how much was it all together

well some of that noise is the induction roar aswell but if i leave that out of the equation.

    Center section (Supersprint) is £55
    Back box (Janspeed) £150
    De cat (Janspeed) £100
    Manifold (Janspeed) £250

So £550 i total, bit pricey and cheaper systems are avaliable. But Janspeed are based 1 mile away from me so I can always pop down there with any problems and have a chat, janspeed comes with an unlimited lifetime warranty aswell.

i say janspeed as well but im just as biased, i had an off the shelf janspeed before i went turbo and loved it, for sound and performance i think there one of the best, thats why a went to them to build my new one

special order only. Halfords can get alot of shit lol

Make sure you get the guy to get the catalogue out so you get the right part. Either the extra long (mk1 decat pipe included version, which will say for racing use only on the computer) or the shorted one to leave the cat in for mk1's.

I can get MK1 and MK2 center sections for £50 including postage.

It will decat any saxo with the cat under the car and also remove the center box.

It will remove the center silencer on the MK2.
Ive got one on my MK2 VTR and it sounds much better with it.

    PM me if your interested

If your looking for a Buget setup then a RaceLand 4-2-1 S/S Manifold and then a Cat back Ashley Competion System with either 3' or 4' tailpipe good performance and very loud check out www.rallydesign.co.uk for ashley exhausts and www.kam-racing.com for raceland stuff. RaceLand manifold is about £130ish then about the same for the ashley system.

On a higher budget GMC 4-1 manifold and then Scropion or Piper cat back exhaust not a loud as the ashley but will be s/s rather than m/s (not that it really matters) expect to pay about £250+ for the manifold and about the same for the cat back exhausts

If money is totally no object then go for a OMP system from YBracing on eBay - very light and very good performer, it will however replace the cat (non MoT friendly) and expect to pay £300+ just for the exhaust

Magnex and Janspeed will ruffly sound the same Piper and Scorpion will be louder depending on tailpipe choice and Ashley and OMP will be very loud.

Depends what you want and how much you got to play with

i wouldn't recommend a gmc after getting one as the fit was shit! am going to get an ashley i think but try it with the best offer on ebay first!
  17. #17
gmc make a special manifold tho which is out of the way of the oil filter and is ment to be a perfect fit
i have literly just got of the phone from ordering one so we will see when it comes
  18. #18
GMC fanimolds fit perfectly, mine did!! with the VTR the zorst is smaller in the centre section than anywhere else citreon made it this way to decrease the power. if you get a decent centre section and back box ull notice a difference id recomend GMC all the way for advise & products i use them for most things...
  19. #19
gutting mine wasnt such a good fit! lol there is a thread about one on here where someones wasnt a good fit..... Mine is the one where you dont need to move the oil filter! i didnt have to anyway because i am a 90bhp but if a 98bhp were to buy mine from me it should fit. My whole exhaust system has now pulled to the left a bit aswel.

And i went to halfords and the supersprint on display was for the saxo and was £63 so how did you get yours for £55????
  20. #20
where i got my manifold fitted (manic motors) he said gmc normally good but said the raceland ones he does seem to fit better

I still haven't got one, i dont know what to do

Either supersprint section and a decent backbox.

Piper cat-back to match my GMC (piper) manifold, or scorpion. Or ashley for pue performance, but shouldn't be too loud with me having my cat! Aslong as the centre silencer is small and cant hit the bottom of my car
