Honest Opinions On Bodykit

  1. #1
Got myself a VTS on an 03 plate.

I already have a Demon rear bumper and Viking front bumper (bought from stxstyling.co.uk about 2 years ago). Thats all i have so far!

Looking at getting some Warrior wide skirts and Warrior wide front and rear arches now ('bout £120 for the front arches, £120 for the rears, and £120 for the skirts) from STX Styling also.

Already have a Dimma spoiler fitted as i bought it fitted to the car. Looks very nice IMO!

    Any opinions?

Would it suit a set of Elite Blades in a 16" lowered 40mm all round?

    Cheers guys and girls!

Honestly...... bodykits are shite, except the full Dimma one.

Pictures of the bodykit and wheels would help too.
  3. #3
    pics of the car
  4. #4
I am at work at the moment, will take photos as soon as i can as the digicam is in the process of being replaced due to my mate deciding to try and take some photos of some fit girls down southend the other night and dropping it out of the window.....pillock!

Camera --> Fit women --> Open window --> Not a good idea!

IMO opinion the Dimma front bumper doesnt look as nice as the Viking front i have!
  5. #5
Would be best if you could show us pics mate really.

I like "some" kits, need to be subtle though.
  6. #6
i'll get em up asap! hopefully the weekend as my mate is giving me cash straight up for breaking my camera!
  7. #7
If i can remember how to get them up, think i need to be a Premium before i can, not been a member long!
  8. #8
Use something like www.photobucket.com to host them, then just copy the
URL link. Tis dead easy mate.

Oh and just use a camera phone for the pics!!
  9. #9
Cliche kit looks good doesnt it?
  10. #10
i see a bodykit and straight away i think - CHAV!! dunno why, i just do!
  11. #11
Yeah VTS. Not too sure on the Cliche kit.

Rushy_23, will get the pics of the front and rear bumper done tomorro morning, got an N80 so hopefully the quality is gonna be good enough @ 3m pixels! Wont have the car til saturday but i can PM the link to the site i found the arches and skirts on
  12. #12
CHAV = Council House and Violence.

    I'm far from that!
  13. #13
well thats what it is abbreviated for apparently, dont take my word for it! No offence to those it may insult, just something i read somewhere!

bit harsh im not a chav (but thats what all chavs say i guess)
  16. #16
The VTS does look nice as standard, just needs a bit of sexing up!

Im going down the "smart, yet slightly non-subtle road, not the "over the top" boy racer cock extension cr*p!

Am looking at doing the engine, but dont know what to replace to gain power and speed. Cams, viper induction, superchip??
  17. #17
I wouldnt want to do the engine myself, barely got the courage to polish the rocker cover up myself!
  18. #18
But with engine modding id be declaring it on insurance also as i cant afford for it to go wrong and be without a car for work
  19. #19
I know the viking bumper, its jus the same as demon except for the fogs are positioned slightly different if im correct??

I like some kits, subtle like rushy said, but they can look really out of place if not matched well with others mods and colours.
  20. #20
well superchips are crap so dont go near them

pay someone to so the work or buy a haynes manual and learn

    its only nuts and bolts

you not declaring the body mods then
  22. #22
nooooooo dont go near bodykits well except for dimma
  23. #23
AJ_VTS your correct, the outer lamps on the bumper are positioned slightly higher than the inner ones. The only difference between the Viking and Demon bumpers!
  24. #24
yeaht he body mods will be declared. as and when they get done. same for engine mods.
  25. #25
Only problem i have with the demon rear bumper is that it doesnt quite sit snugly onto the car. needs slight mods to make it sit properly as when it curls round toward the arches (both o/s and n/s) you can see stress marks forming on the bumper! and the threaded sleeves to bolt to sit slightly away from the body holes
  26. #26
Personally i wouldn't. But hey, it's what YOU like not others.
  27. #27
who gives a dick what other people think about body kits being wank etc etc... If you like the body kit then do it and enjoy it.
  28. #28
    as been said before.

there are too many sheeps on this site.

Be the shepard my friend and lead the others else where!

Get the kit. Be an individual
  29. #29
i intend to rem, just wanted to see what others thought, be a while before i get it done tho as i cant seem to find a decent bodyshop around maldon! and cant be without the car for too long!

im off wednesday so the pics o fthe bumpers etc will be up then!

    Incorecto my good man.

Chav came from the terminolgy Chelsea average
  31. #31
i have got front and rear bumpers on my sax and i aint no chav or loser. i like the way they look. when i see saxo's with a big exhaust and a set of shit wheels on i think, oh what a loser cant afford anything better. now i am sure no body on here is like that but dont tarnish everyone with the same brush
  32. #32
    thanks blacksax1!

and sorry for the misinformation argyle, only what i read, im not that bothered if someone calls me a chav anyway, i know im not and thats all that counts!
  33. #33
Go for it mate i got a pair of sideskirts i may sale their D&M Devlopment ones rrp £150 can have them cheap.

    Bondie
  34. #34
i quite like bodykits m8, BUT and its a big but, alot of ppl go around with crap wheels and the bodykit hanging off with huge exhausts and drive like absolute tw*ts and they have made ppl think that if you have a bodykit you are an idiot driver and a prat instead of an enthusiast wanting to stick out from the crowd, as long as you have a nice set of wheels and the bodykit is put on properly and it looks gud and tasteful and as long as you like it, GO FOR IT!

thats right mate dont listen to them. body kits will come back round in time mate. look at fashion. i think the 60's are on there way back. same as bodykits, everything is one big cycle. that is if gordon bloody brown doesnt tax us all of the road before it has a chance
  36. #36
true, government are always shitting on us!

alloys im after can be found on elites website. Elite Blade, going for a 16" on 195/40 tyres. should look nice with a wide set of arches and skirts with the bumpers i currently have!
  37. #37
i intend on having it blended in, so there is no re-occurance of what happened when i got my VTr 2 years ago, drove down the a12 toward colchester and the bloody drivers side front arch came flying off! no side repeater or anything! didnt have a chance to stop and run back and grab it, dont play in the road anymore! hehe
  38. #38
blended looks good mate but becareful. i had mine blendid the first time and then caught it just a tiny little bit and that was it. the whole bloody lot was cracked. just had to pay again and have them sanded and resprayed and this time left them normal.
  39. #39
You got me thinking now, only way i would knock mine is driving up my track to my house! see i live about 1/4 mile from a main road, absolute heaven being that far away! problem is the track is full of pot holes and will cost a fortune to tarmac!

just have to drive down it at 5mph instead of 20mph
  40. #40
lol. i went out last night to pizza hut with four people in the car and to get to our pizza hut you have to go over these funny bump things. if they were blendid they would have been cracked again but cus they werent, nothing not even a scratch. RESULT
  41. #41
ive got my saxo kitted up, a bit ott for most people but i like it how it is

if you want to kit up your car then go for it, its your car and its your money

although i have cracked my arch twice where its blended to to the rear bumper
